A challenger for Tom Segal's crown, from the Sporting Life:

Ben Linfoot's stunning run of success with the Value Bet column continued on Saturday with Namecheck his latest big-price winner.

Our star tipster was extending his winning Saturday sequence to five and the 20-1 chance never looked in danger of defeat in the ukunpublished.co.uk Handicap at Newmarket.

On Friday evening our man reasoned: "Namecheck caught the eye last time in a handicap at Sandown.

"He led the near side group with a furlong to go but ended up racing in the middle of the track and was eased when beaten, eventually fading into sixth.

"Still, it was an encouraging run, enough to suggest he retains the ability he showed as a juvenile.

"The handicapper has dropped him a further couple of pounds and he looks worth chancing at 20/1."

And so it proved as Ahmed Ajtebi brought his partner with a well-timed run to win by a length-and-a-quarter.

The success follows hot on the heels of other Saturday specials, Tominator (50-1), Halicarnassus (28-1) and Green Destiny (9-1).

Add in the likes of Lexi's Hero (25-1) and Julienas (20-1) last month and it's clear why the Value Bet column has become THE racing preview you can't afford to miss.

It would be a very rare one.
