Looks an interesting renewal. Prince Gibraltar looks short enough at 15/8 - difficult to know what to make of the form, but it is in soft ground and the Criterium de Saint Cloud has hardly worked out fantastically.

Lot of unexposed horses around the 14/1 mark, but the one that takes my eye is Free Port Lux, primarily on the basis of his Hocquart win. Was impressed with that performance, beating a decent colt in Adelaide (who has since won an admittedly weak Gallinule). The draw has to be be a concern though.

Although there look a lot of unexposed horses, there seems to be a fair amount of dead wood as well.

Any thoughts on the race?

Tough race. I like Galiway for the master over this trip but like his old rivals Prestige Vendrome and Karakontie he's been unlucky with the draw. Might be a tempting place bet.

Nightmare race, though Shamkiyr might be worth a small e.w. poke at double figure odds.
Well drawn, won his maiden easily in a very respectable time, and his trainer's won the race 6 times previously - 5 of them for the Aga..

Shamkiyr posted a very strong time last time out but Prince Gibraltar's sectionals were also very impressive. I wouldn't have so much between them in the morning but there's no doubt that at the moment, they look like the best two French middle distance colts.

However, the Grey Gatsby is no slouch and he's been underrated in my opinion and he'll be at least 16 on the PMU and worth a few euros.

Great result for connections of The Grey Gatsby

and pocket talk from me but WTF was Mosse doing on Pricne Gibraltor ?

Mosse is like Peslier, he's either brilliant or terrible. No middle ground.

Pleased for my True Story position but need decent ground next Saturday.

Another big plus for the Guineas form. And maybe the RP Trophy form.

I hope Steve M and Kieren Fallon* are badgering team Hannon to supplement Night Of Thunder. I think he would have every chance of staying the trip and he has the best form anywhere around.

[*maybe not, if he thinks he has a winning chance on True Story.]

quality call:cool:;)

Nice one, GS.
Ground's quite quick at Chantilly now, and that might work against Catcall. Stepper Point could be the one to benefit.

Fastest time since race distance changed in 2005.
TGG is a horse with a great attitude.
These 3 yr olds look a good good crop.
Form from Craven through 2000 Gns to Dante looking the business.
Delighted that K Ryan has trained a classic winner.
I had a little each way on tote that helps my enthusiasm no end !

Surprising, I thought the Dante was awful.

Any reason why? I thought the first three looked smart in the Dante. The runner-up is probably a decent 10 furlong colt and True Story is quite classy and will stay 12 furlongs and more, but I'm not quite sure he's one for toughing it out.
