Reading criticism on another forum about the ride McCoy gave Perce Rock, I see Mel made a passing reference above, suggesting that he is lacking in tactical nous on some horses.

It's very unusual to read anything bad about McCoy in the media, but this race and that ride on Witchita Lineman at Aintree last year suggests that he can be sucked in to going to fast on some occasions.
