Unfortunately remembered mainly for that performance at Live Aid, AIDS and some very ropey material post 1980, this album released in 1975 is a stonewall classic which is overlooked by a lot of people.

Queen from `73-78 were as good as anything Britain has ever produced musically, and i was wondering if anyone has got the latest Q magazine which has a list of the all-time greatest 100 albums? And if so where did this album come?

Indeed, i know Radiohead were 1st and 2nd followed by Nevermind, Revolver and Oasis...at which point i threw the magazine back on the shelf and walked out of the shop in disgust.

That Top 20 looks extremely similar to the one Q did around '98 or so. Kid A at 10 smells of block voting by Radiohead fans.

Not bad for a mainstream list, but it always puzzles me how they always get the metal..or at least hard rock...albums totally wrong.
Yes, it`s ok but nowt special. I couldn`t see the Queen album there which i expected to be honest.

Some great albums in this list.

Anything that doesn't include Creedence Clearwater Revival is clearly off its hinges. That looks like obscurantism of the first order - come ON! Who's heard of a third of those, let alone bought them and played them 5000 times? Shows a serious lack of respect for the power of Motown, soul, R&B, blues funk... et cetera, et cetera, et cetera...
