Quieter?

It certainly is quieter but looking around most other forums are at this time of the year. So I don’t think the lull is down to the change over, it would have been the same on the old place…just the timing.

I can never resist a stat, so I just checked. In the last 6 full days on here, there's been just 13 less posts than the last 6 full days on the old forum.

I seem to be in the minority, but I don't like new format.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's something sterile and unwelcoming about it, so it's not surprising postings are down.

Most of the funky new features are a waste of time. I just want a horseracing forum which isn't too slow and doesn't fall over.

You're a luddite, Ven!:)

I doubt that the format is so off-putting as to deter anyone worth having as a member but it is less homely somehow. There are probably features that would enable one to soften the appearance to but I'm afraid of ****ing all up.

Well, we seem to have lost useful functionality, rather than gained any.

I can't any more have some (admittedly limited) way of making the layout more pleasing to the eye, well, my eyes anyway.

And I can't any more see who's looking at a particular thread. It was quite handy, if you'd posted on some topic, to see if there were other people also viewing it - it made you more likely to stick around for a bit to see if there were any responses.

As I said before, we will be adding some alternative layout templates that users can pick from themselves.

Now turned on (for members only, naturally). Should be showing up below the Quick Reply box.

If the weather is bad over the weekend I'll have free time, so will try to add some extra themes. What colour scheme from the old forum did you like venusian?

This question gets aired every flat season - basically, it's so uninteresting no-one can be arsed to talk about it!!!!!! :p :D

We are all waiting for the national hunt so that we can declare mediocre flat handicappers as world-beating hurdlers.

I'll be there, although in what state very much depends on Oktoberfest the week before and how Montmartre runs in the GP de Paris.
