I need help again.

I am thinking of putting together a quiz based on owners colours, I have been googling in vain for a site with some sort of database of colours.

Perhaps I am expecting too much but if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be truly grateful.

Otherwise I shall have to plough through the RP site looking for some ideas.

Colin, if you pm me your e-mail address I could send you a comma delimited text file containing the records in the timeform owner table which you could then imort into a MS Access table (assuming you have Access). The table contains the fields Owner name, Text description of owner's colours and owner sort name.

e.g.

"Sheer Madness Partnership","Royal blue, emerald green sleeves, black armlets, black cap","Sheer Madness Partnership"
"Sheet & Roll Convertors Ltd","Royal blue, light blue sleeves, red armlets and cap","Sheet & Roll Convertors Ltd"
"Shefford Valley Stud","White, light blue seams, white sleeves and cap","Shefford Valley Stud"
"Sheik Ahmad Yousuf Al Sabah","Dark blue and light blue (quartered), chevrons on sleeves, striped cap","Sheik Ahmad Yousuf Al Sabah"
"Sheikh Abdullah Al Quasimi","White, light blue cross belts and sleeves","Quasimi Abdullah Al Sheikh"

Colin, if you're a bit sheikhed-out with that lot, may I humbly suggest some trainers who are ALSO owners when they run certain horses, using their own colours thus:

Jamie Osborne: royal blue and dark blue check

Andrew Reid: royal blue, white hoop, white sleeves with royal blue armlets, white cap

Paul Cole: light green

John Bridger: royal blue, yellow sleeves, quartered cap

Eric Wheeler: orange, emerald green spots, orange sleeves and cap

John Spearing: yellow, maroon hoop and sleeves

Gary Moore: beige, purple hoops, white cap with purple tassel

Terry Mills: maroon, gold sleeves, light blue cap

Charlie Cyzer: yellow, black diamond on cap

Christine Dunnett: pink, black cross belts and cap

Others upon application... ;)

As colours are registered at Weatherbys I had a quick look on their site but can't see any information at first glance, but maybe Graham can help you as I think he works there.
 
The Irish Racing site at:

has a folder of colours by name. You have to work out the filename using the owners names on the racecards on the site but it should be pretty easy, e.g.:
