Hi , I've got Sat1 and Sat2 connections to a communal Sky dish and was wondering if I was to buy any 2nd hand Sky Box if it would receive Racing Uk on the Free channels without any card or subscription ? Thanks

Thanks. I thought that one of the racing channels at least was freeview/freesat. I suppose I'll be ok buying any Skybox then sending off money to buy a viewing card for it , cheers

Appreciate replies. I suppose I will be ok to buy any Sky box or maybe to get ATR free I need to have a Sky + or HD box ? Not sure if I need to buy a viewing card to receive ATR for free ? I'll be buying 2nd hand Sky box tomorrow , thanks guys

So I cannot receive either ATR or Racing UK for free on any Sky box free to view or freesat ? And the only way to receive either 1 or both is to Subscribe ?

I've heard one of them is available on Entertainment extra. Would have thought at least one would be available via a Sky box free channel , either with or without a Viewing card.

I thought we had the basic package but maybe not as I get ATR. We don't have sport or films though.

I think RUK is priced well out out of many people market, some people aren't betters, we just love watching but I can't afford it. I might push it if they did a NH season 6 month contract maybe. I am very grateful that the races are replayed generally free on their website even if I can't yet watch them on my ipad!!!

Thanks anyway. Been told again that no racing on freesat etc. Just had a chat with Sky and basically they've given me a 12 month contract for 20.25p a month on their Entertainment Extra package , which includes ATR. Racing UK , if I bother going for it is a third party channel that you would need to get in touch with yourselves to add for the extra cash , so it seems , cheers

Internet killed television, the only money in television is through sports these days which is why we're getting whacked to prices to cover the failing stations across the airwaves. I read recentley that NBC bought rights to Barclays Premier League coverage and with UK selling off all ownership to foreign investors with their premier league clubs then we could be tredding dangerous waters.

I was one of the first to have Sky in the 80s and everything was free and it was really good - then bump - I started losing different channels , taken in and ended up leaving them. Cold day in watching racing and wondering whether to open an account with maybe Coral , not keen on going back to William Hill Chavs -''err , what's a roll up ? I've only had a few weeks to learn about betting ''
