Racing UK or Channel 4??

Help pls...

My first year since 1990 not going.

What's best to watch it on?

I don't have RUK so would have to buy for one month(if possible).

Is it better than C4. I suppose you get the extra races?
 
It's different gear to C4 in terms of analysis in my opinion.

A lot depends on the analysts on I suppose; Steve Mellish and Jonathan Neesom are top class. You know you won't be getting Graham Cunningham this year as well.
 
Are channel four showing all the races again this year? They did last year (and for ascot as well - was fab!)

You can't buy a one month subscription to RUK Harry. They quote a monthly price but it's minimum 12 month contract.

Better off with C4 for the first 5 races then using an online account for live streaming of the last 2 or 1 (Thursday)

Trudi - C4 showed all the RA races live but definitely not Cheltenham. Can't remember the reasons they gave though.

Oh - I thought they did. Maybe I just backed a quid on each other race and watched online then... I did love the ever race from RA though, v good move on their part IMO

RUK is excellent. Totally different class. If racimng had any sense they would make it free to air because its a cracking showcase for the sport and would certainly drag a new audience in
 
I agree that Channel 4 is rubbish but has Racing UK improved lately. Last time I watched (I admit some time ago now) it wasn't very good.

Seemed to be going the same way as Channel 4, coverage being 'powered' by one bookmaker or another and a reluctance to show the horses before the races.

I ended my subscription, it's a bit sad when the coverage of a sport puts you off that sport.
 
There's freeview for an hour in the morning on RUK but there's no justification for signing up for a year just for 4 days, even if yo have to put up with the forced gravitas of Claire Balding. Just hop on the internet and stream live for free!
 
C4 currently running a Cheltenham quiz on their twitter feed, one of the questions is "You bump into STD at The Hollow Bottom and offer to buy him a drink. What does he order ?"

Who thinks up this sh*t ?
 
Can anyone recommend any good places to watch this online (Android phone)?

I know several bookies let you watch if you place a bet, but I would assume they would be embedded players using Flash which more than likely won't work...
 
I hate that RacingUK is so bloody expensive, and that it doesn't do monthly or Cheltenham or festival mini contracts say. I have no real income and I don't bet much, just dabbles. I have to cope with the rapidly declining C4.

Is there anywhere I can stream the races for free, or a very small fee (not £5, less)? Just the Untelevised races.

Thank god for ATR though that also is getting thin on the ground, just the gaff tracks now. But it's something to do most days in the NH season.

At least I have month of free racing posts on the app now! Just used a different email address from last year.....
