I'm delighted to see that once more Rebus is gracing our screens, I just can't understand why they haven't made a series of the Rebus books - if memory serves, this is only the 2nd televised serial.  I'm also gutted that John Hannah os no longer Rebus - he was absolutely made for the role.  He was utterly perfect for the role, and was superb as Rebus previously.  Having said that, I think Ken Stott is superb, and would maybe have thought he was perfect for the role but for seeing John Hannah play the part.  I have read every Rebus book so far & think they are superb - very clever and very funny.  Rebus is the original brooding, loner of a detective who loves country music, whiskey & playing the game HIS way, even if it means breaking the rules - he is also still the best, by far.  I'm very much looking forward to seeing tonight's episode, I just hope that I can cope with seeing Stott as Rebus as even when I read the books I still imagine Rebus as taking on John Hannah's form!
