Thank you Brian - I was totally & utterly disappointed with the programme too.  Strange, because the write up on the Radio Times website was very good & said that Stott made an excellent Rebus - I agree totally with Aunty K that he was too "twinkly".  Not to mention too stout - Rebus is an ex-SAS inmate who although not still fit is still capable of sprinting after someone; couldn't imagine the stocky Stott having the physique for the SAS!!!

I have to admit to actually losing interest (& the plot) through out the programme as it was so far away from the book which is arguably one of the best Rebus books.  I was also very much put off by the emphasis on the romance too, Kri.  I also spent virtually the entire programme repeating "he's just NOT Rebus" ad nauseam!  Siobhan wasn't Siobhan either - she was far too innocent & nowhere near sassy enough.  Claire Goose would have been a far better choice, or that brilliant blonde Irish actress who played a DI in a recent ITV serial & was in Ballykissangel years ago.
