Claire Goose is turning in some great performances, isn't she, Shadow? I don't know the books, but based on your own descriptions, and the previous Rebuses (Rebi?), this one just seemed very uneven and undecided about itself. Stott's a fine actor, but he's not got John Hannah's detachment. James Nesbitt would've done the part justice in lieu of Hannah, I think. (Two very lustworthy males, too, imho!)
