I hugely recommend watching the film 'Touching the Void' on C4 tonight at 9pm. Especially as its a true story and a quite remarkable one at that. The book was brilliant even if you have no interest at all in climbing and the film is a pretty good adaptation. Just so long as you don't suffer from vertigo!
