The commentary suggested that the rank outsider won at 4/1. In fact (and I'm not kidding) he was returned at 7/2, giving an overround of around 180%. What a wonderful way of getting new racegoers interested in betting, and then fleecing the dopey bastards.

Surely No.1 disqualled for being off-course? I'm writing to the BRRA (British Reindeer Racing Authority) to complain right now!

It sets a dangerous precident that they paid out on the winner. Punters up at down the country are reaching deeply into their pockets for Scotsirish receipts. He was a morale winner too.
