I was out for a meal last night at a local, not very cheap restaurant. The meal was delicious and I ordered a liquer coffee to finish. The waitress brought it over and promptly spilled it right down me. I now have a coffee stained top, coffee stained jeans and a new coffee stained handbag. They were very apologetic and have offered to pay any cleaning bills, which I shall most definately be sending them. However, that was it. No free drink, no free bottle of wine, nothing off the bill. Was I expecting too much? Given that I spent the end of my night rather soggy and reeking of coffee and have the hassle of taking my clothes to a dry cleaners I think I should have got a free something at least.
