Was just thinking about how we could use horses to help build better lives for children within inner cities by developing life skills and other job targeted skills.

I think the Government should invest about half a million into housing retired racehorses on the most famous commons across London, Clapham Common, Streatham Common etc.

Whereby local youths from schools and the estate will be registered responsbile alongside a supervisor for the treatment of the horse, the idea can go even further, we could help promote administrative skills by assigning the task to the kids of setting up race entries, buying stock etc.

We could even have a long term target for 3 months where the kids are responsible for getting the horses fit for training, of course this would require professional work riders but they could assess the performance under super vision.

This could all lead onto a race, whereby each corner of London where racehorses are housed are encouraged to come together for a race at say Sandown or Lingfield Park and it would give great satsifaction, confidence and self esteem to hand out winning awards or runners up awards to the kids participation in training a racehorse.
