Can someone explain how to work out roi.
Hugh taylor made 280 pts profit and his ROI was 1.4
How does that work.
If his stakes were 1000 pts and he made 280 pts profit why isnt his roi nearly 30%.
Hes successful,so why is the roi so low?

Could it be he's simply rounded it up to 1 decimal place and expressed it where 1 = 100%, i.e. 1000 / 280 = 3.57. Add 1 (1.357) and then round to 1 dp (1.4) ?

That's an incorrect way of calculating ROI if he has.

ROI is 280/1000 = 0.28 (or 28%)

They were approximate figures.
Someone mentioned it on my thread on another forum and i didnt understand roi.

On the other forum ive staked 800 pts approx.and im 200 pts up so what is my roi?

Thanks for that but im still confused over why hugh taylors roi is always around 1.4 when he makes over 200pts profit.

It’s on the ATR website. The ROI of 1.44 quoted only makes sense to me if the investment was 639 points. Then 281/639 = 44%
But it’s an odd way to express the ROI

The monthly stakes and results are all there too but I can’t be arsed to check it all out.

Congrats BTW on your impressive returns Outsider
