Can I propose a thread to nominate people who impress, for whatever reason, with their effectiveness, value, communication of accurate facts or whatever else takes your fancy?

For instance, I would like to nominate John Snow, the C4 news presenter. He is like Jeremy Paxman but with serious humanity always present. He knows his subject, interviews well and cares about the people he has in the studio. He is hard-hitting, persistent and pursues the right questions to the right degree.

I have not searched for a similar thread, so please excuse my starting this one if it is redundant.
 
I didn't quite have the heart to say it; but this is Talking Horses!!! Saying nice things? about racing people? (or anyone come to think of it). Well we could give it a try I suppose, but I'm not sure it's going to catch on
 
On the subject of hard-hitting news presenters, Vincent Browne deserves a mention. Absolute terrier, and fecking hilarious to boot!
 
Miriam O'Callaghan in bitchy interview mode is a sight to behold.

I hope she doesn't get the Late Late though, cos she'd be arse at that.
