The Master of Rathbarry Stud has died.

I only met him briefly the once and he was very pleasant and made time to discuss his stallions with me. He certainly stood some good horses and I am sure will be very badly missed in the industry.

Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

R.I.P

Tough for his family especially at a time when they could have done with his smarts in getting through this bad economical spell we're in.

Very sad. I met him a few times and he was most willing to share knowledge, had a great wit and always remembered me when he saw me at the sales or racing. He had been in the business for years but retained his enthusiasm and his love of the thoroughbred.

I worked at Rathbarry for almost a year and brough one of their stallions to South America a year later. Liam was a very hard working person and he will be missed.
I remember being invited for lunch to their house on Xmas day alongside others members of staff, just two months after I started working for them. He really had a great eye to spot successful stallions prospects.
Condolences to Catherine and the rest of his family.
