Prior to the past couple of years I'd always thought of RC in terms of the old Craig Ferguson joke - "the funny one's dead", but his jokes have grown on me over the past few years and now I felt a little sad at his passing.

His own humour was delicately understated.

I always liked him, especially when working apart from Ronnie Barker.
