Any thoughts?

Without going into it too much yet, I quite fancy Duncan in the Gold Cup.

I think he was flattered at York by running against the rail. Holberg has the beating of him anyway on a line through Manighar (who is capable of reversing that Knavesmire form)
Fame and Glory could be the weakest short priced fav of the week and must be taken on. A Fabre animal close to 20/1 is always worth a look.

Thanks. I will have to look at the race in much more detail before coming to any conclusion. I'd be most interested to hear anyone's thought on the Britannia Stakes - looks a lottery.

In the Norfolk, has anybody know anything about Everyday Dave? Sounds impressive but haven't seen his races obviously. Bapak Chinta is the form pick of course, hard to choose between the two.

No idea about the Ribblesdale, I'll probably take a chance on Zain Al Boldan.

Am I mad to fancy Catalyze at 50/1 for the Britannia. My other bet will be Belgian Bill.

On my figures, he clocked a Beyer of 84 which is in the mix in this race (top 5 material) but wouldn't be backable material at the price for me.

I have strong views in the last three races tomorrow but I'm too tired to post them now, will do in the morning!

Agree there. Form with horses like Glens Diamond and giving a stone and a beating to subsequent winner Fred Willetts must give him a favourites chance here. Stall 30 will help.

Indeed Marble, and not forgetting his proximity to Excellebration on his debut.

It's not everyday you see something like Dave

Wesley Ward hasn't really lived up to the hype in his juvenile runners since he first came over two season's back, but the trump card is unleashed today in the style of Everyday Dave. The Weather Warning gelding smashed the in a 4.6f allowance race Stateside prior to a devastating display at Chantilly when destroying the course record returning a time of 57.7 seconds, having been allowed to coast home. With a King Stand time of 59.5 seconds, be prepared for something special as Ward's colt lines up in the Norfolk on day 3 at Ascot.

Working in Newmarket on the Rowley Mile's Flat Gallop 10 days ago, the imposing colt burst 4L readily away from Gentleman's Code without breaking out of first gear with Gypsy Robin a further 2L back. Ward's lightning gelding, is regarded as the equine Usian Bolt and defeat is not an option as he graces the Ascot turf on Thursday.

From a strong high draw in 16, he will adopt jump and go tactics and a win would bode well for Judy The Beauty tomorrow who was 2nd of the four in the gallop mentioned above and she won despite stumbling leaving the stalls last time. Both of these are regarded Ward's better prospects, but Everyday Dave comes here with exuding confidence and will be very hard to catch, blink and you'll miss him !

In the Britannia, I think Trade Storm is an absolutely massive price. He makes his handicap debut here, arguably off a harsh 98 but looking at the form of his last two runs, in behind Codemaster especially, I'm not too sure. He's certainly worth a squeek EW at 50s with 5 places. Vanguard Dream and Cai Shen are the other too that catch the eye at the prices although the former put in a poor run when he last ran here.

In the Hampton Court, Laajooj looks big at 11s, he won well last time out despite being out on his own at Newmarket in a very good time and has the assistance of Mickael again who is 2 from 2 on him. Happy Today looks big at 28s too as an EW saver.

On a similar formline through beaten horses, Eternal Heart is one of the bets of the meeting for me. How a progressive Mark Johnston three year old is 16/1 for this race, I don't know. I suspect it's because his last win came at Musselburgh but again, that time was exceptional. I was worried about his draw in 21 but now the rain has come, they may take the Willie Carson route under the trees which will make his draw less of a negative. Discoteca looks big at 66s too.

I really like Laajooj, and backing him at 12/1 last time out was my best bet of the year. I will have a little on him each way, but if there is a horse in the race who could prove something special, it is Hunter's Light at 7/1. He absolutely demolished Maqaraat at Newmarket last time out (who looked to have no excuses) by 6 lengths, and this horse whose 2 previous runs had seen him finish close up second in the Dee Stakes, and prior to that he was 1 length behind Ocean War. Being by Dubawi, Hunter's Light should have no problem with the ground, and whilst there is a chance it could be too early in his career, I'm confident it won't be based on how he ran last time out. A big bet at 7s.

More on the ground
Chris Stickels told At The Races: "The ground has eased quite a bit after 11 millimetres of rain this morning.
"It is good to soft, soft in places. I have been very pleased with how the straight course has taken the rain."

Belgian Bill ran a cracker there Simon. He's probably earned more for finishing fourth in the Britania than he has earned in total prize money in his career so far, something like 13 grand I think it was. He holds a John Smiths Cup entry as does the horse that finished second off top weight. BB travelled so sweet today before getting done for toe in the last furlong. I reckon at least another furlong will suit him.

Well done Luke. What made you so confident it would finish out of the frame if you don't mind me asking?

I backed Census - I very much doubt he would have caught the winner but he had a bad trip and made up loads of ground .

Eventually won his maiden after 3 attempts. All those races were fairly uncompetetive and today was a much sterner test.Nick Mordin mentioned him in terms of the Irish Derby but he seems more like a bad novice hurdler to me.
I suppose it all comes down to personal likes and dislikes.

Good call Luke, he is what he is, the Hennessys will buy him for 200k and win a 50-70 handicap on the flat in Sligo with him in two years time.

Gamla - followed you in on Trade Storm at 50's ew - paid 5th in Powers - owe you a large one!! Cheers

OTB -I am hoping that the Hennesssys Table Mountain runs at The Curragh next week -massive place lay at short odds.

It was always a place lay once this genius got involved..
