Could someone clear up for me the draw at Ascot. Whenever I watch coverage they always seem to say different. It's better on the far rail, it's better on the near side, it's better in the centre. I can never understand who has an advantage, if anyone at all? This question is regardless of distance, ground or straight and round course - I'd be more than grateful if someone could explain all of the differences.
You're probably right, but I'll be there on Thursday and when I'm at the races I like to have a small bet in all of the races, for an interest if nothing else, and then have a bit bigger bet on something I really fancy (if there is anything).
It's best to bite the bullet and go with where the fancied horses are grouped. They will find their own best ground at Ascot, or at least likely have the best shot at going where that might be.
thats unlikely though Steve when you are stuck high or low and halfway through the race your silks look like you have been racing at the back of 2 mile hurdle race in the middle of winter..and you realise you are well and truly shagged as far as finishing in the money
best advice imo is back one in each half of the draw in big fields
i've never been to Ascot..is it your first time there?
Hope you followed the advice to look high today.
none of the fields split though..the rail normally favours in those conditions
the hunt cup should be interesting..high or low?
