Understand that his c4 programme flopped a bit and after catching him on some Big brother programme last night...i can see why

Lets be clear about one thing...

Comedy is timing... and its not about SHOUTING

I am sure that hes a perfectly nice enough bloke (or may not be) but he is simply the new Vic Reeves....

Maybe not quite so relentlessly unfunny as Reeves but completely overhyped

I'm glad someone else found Vic Reeves incomprehensibly unfunny. How he and Bob Mortimer got a whole show to themselves, when there were surely some WITTY comedians around at the time, was beyond me. Maybe they slept their way to the top or had obtained some photos someone of influence would rather were kept private, but they were as funny as a leaking lavatory. And yes, Brand is trading on bawling, and looking ridiculous, in lieu of actually being amusing. Who finds all these tacky people?

It's hard to find a non shouting comedian these days, but through it all he does come up with the odd bit of off-the-cuff wit which raises a snigger in the Melendez household. I think he does well to keep some entertainment value in what is a God-awful idea for a big brother spin-off.

Krizon

We are going to have to stop agreeing....

Reeves is the perfect case of the dismally unfunny "clown" who thinks that pulling faces and shouting (again) is hilarious.

there was also an element of fashion about them too and you suspect some of their appeal was that people didnt want to seem uncool by simply not laughing at these art school merchants playing at comedy.

Brand possibly has abit more to offer but has no comic timing at all. None....

Bring back the following

Jasper Carrot
Jack Dee
Phil Cool
Billy Connolly
I also like Peter kay in small doses

I watched a Billy Connoly DVD (for the third time) on Sat night

Brilliant hour and halfs stand up. A true master

Do not understand the attraction of Brand, and they have given him a slot on Radio 2 as well. Also glad I am not the only one who has never found Reeves and Mortimer funny. Completely ruined Randall and Hopkirk (deceased) as well. h:)

Reeves and Mortimer a bit hit and miss perhaps, but I thought Shooting Stars was hilariously funny on its day.

Did anybody see The Big Fat Quiz of 2006?Russell Brand and Noel Fielding were brilliant on it,also he was very funny when interviewed by Jonathon Ross. Both are on youtube, the quiz is in 5 parts but everyones funny on it.Must admit though I didn't like what I saw of his Big Brother Show or 1 Leicester Square on MTV.

My mum has bought me tickets to see Russell Brand live in Milton Keynes for my birthday

I cant stand Vic Reeves, although i dont mind Bob.

I quite enjoyed the Russell Brand show and thought it was really funny in a weird way, when he had Jordan and Peter Andre on it was side-splitting.

I used to see Phill Cool quiet regular as he used to go the same fly fishery as me.

Still going! www.philcool.co.uk

Where’s Phil Cool been?

Well, Phil Cool is alive and well and has been living in deepest Lancashire with his wife and family.

So, why have you not seen Phil on television for so long? Well, he’s no good at gardening and decorating and he can’t cook and doesn’t do D.I.Y. so what chance does he stand?
Look! Dump your T.V in the nearest skip and get out to the theatre to see Phil because he’ll be out and about in the U.K doing what he does best… live shows. After watching the new Phil Cool show you won’t realise that two hours plus has flown by, because you will have been spellbound by a rich diversity of his original material delivered in Phil’s unique style.

If the deadly accurate impressions of Bush and Blair don’t get you, the crazy stories from his own experience will. Or maybe it will be Phil’s rendition of Joe Brand that will finish you off. It could even be one of the weird characters that only inhabit Phil Cool’s mind that has you in stitches. Beware, you might just bust a gut when his Billy Connolly tries to teach you of the perils of using too many profanities by slipping into the entire cast of Dad’s army.

Well, no doubt you’ll all have your favorites, Phil’s happens to be his Paul McCartney bringing John Lennon back to life by means of a tape recorder.

Phil has been performing stand up for thirty years and is still comparable to no-one. So do yourself a favour and go see this legendary cult figure in his prime.

Do not miss this show.

Things will never, ever get that bad.

As for Brand i think he`s good at the Big Brother thing, but that`s it.

Bill Bailey is the funniest comedian around for me, his stand-up routine was funny, inventive and original. Not just observational stuff like Peter Kay.

It was entertaining, but i thought Noel Fielding was as funny as piles. Who is he anyway?

Me too,was lucky enough to see him do a gig with the aforementioned Phil Cool at the York Barbican many years ago.
