I have been to about half the courses in the UK and Salisbury was one of the few left I wanted to see. Cant recommend it highly enough. Very friendly. Great viewing and terrific setting. You can see the awesome cathedral from the course which is high up and in fine countryside. Also it has a intimate feel to it where you really feel part of the action. A little like windsor with better viewing. The art deco stand is a fine piece or architecture and the paddock is very well appointed. Always something i look for

Great city too and for those that like these things, the Turner exhibition is well worth a look

Having said that a good friend who is a member there says it is a bit mobbed on Saturday nights now.

I used to like going to Salisbury but with a good crowd in a few bottlenecks build up, there ain't a lot of room alongside the parade ring.

I can see that Colin but was thinking yesterday that I would rate it the best of the small flat courses I've been to.

It's my favourite small track, for all the reasons Clive suggests (unfortunately). I've always found that you can cross onto the infield for the final race if a quick getaway is needed. Admittedly a bit of a pain if you win the last race, but you don't feel quite so bad about the delay trying to get out that country lane with a bit of extra cash to sooth the frustration
