As MTOY it seems is even being considered for Ayr as there is no 2m Graded hurdle in the UK after Cheltenham is it time to add one at the end of year meeting or will that just lead to fulminating from Punchestown - then again who cares HRI have dumped their Champions weekend on top of the Leger - what is sauce for the goose...

More English horses should head to Punchestown. The Irish have the balls to send massive teams over here for Cheltenham, so why are the British such pussies other than the odd Nicky Henderson or Paul Nicholls runner? If I had top horses in training I'd want them running over there.

Serious prize money. 200k for the feature races, every race sponsored and a mid afternoon kick off to recover from late night revelries; what more could you ask for ?
Not to mention such uncompetitive Grade 1s with the same 4 runners in each race!

Punchestown looks like a gaff track on the TV with that horrible fence at 45 degrees - is it the third last ?

Punchestown is a great festival can't understand the negativity, definitely agree more UK horses should come over. Sprinter Sacre was a great addition last year

The two new races at Sandown are interesting though. A two mile six listed hurdle and a two mile six listed chase. The chase is being named in memory of Lord Oaksey.

Good grief, Ardross, have you been on the sauce?

It's a smashing track. I've lost count of the number of times I've been over for the Festival and every time the ground has been great and the grass cover is superb. The track is very wide, so they have fresh ground to use if they need it.

I love the Punchestown Festival. The course is easy to get around, the crowds are less than half the size of Cheltenham's and the whole experience is just great. I think too many UK trainers chuck their horses at Aintree after Cheltenham - they'd be better off waiting and going to Ireland

I dislike that fence and the short run-in .
