A mate is going today and has asked me to mark his card.

As more of a jumps man I thought I'd ask if any of the flat experts on here could give some pointers as to what they fancy.

I like The Fugue in the Eclipse - we didn't get anywhere near the forecast rain in Somerset last night (even played a 20 over cricket match it was so dry). Our weather was meant to be heading east, so if Sandown has missed it and remains on the firm side The Fugue should outclass them.

So - thoughts on the other races?

I see Prince of Johanne runs today. If ever a horse was worth following blindly it's him.

He won the Cambridgeshire at 40/1, The Royal Hunt Cup at 16/1 The Zetland Gold Cup at 16/1 plus, won two other races at 12/1 plus a few other race at odds against.

Either his owner never gambles or is having sneaky small bets on BF at huge prices

He got a really good strike rate and it's only a matter of time until he wins again ..........maybe today maybe not but one to keep in mind no matter where he runs and no matter what price he is.

According to some guy on a racing channel last night AOB's has shown a lot of improvement will will not be beaten today in the Eclipse.....I only caught the back end of it so have no idea who he was but he was very convincing.

I was going to have a good bet on The Fugue but several have chances of beating her and she's too short for my liking.

My biggest bet of the day is on Whiplash Willie in the race after the Eclipse. Back on a decent surface he looks something to bet on.

I think Belle D'Or could very easily lead all the way in the 3.15..on the upgrade and is with the right man to keep putting such a horse in races they can actually win

I like this one a fair bit today as well, doubled it up with The Fugue at 3/1 earlier when she was being opposed in the market.

Well done, chaps.

I'm having second thoughts about KH acting on that ground. It's looking like some just aren't going on it.

I thought Wee Jean was a preposterous price compared to Queen Catrine and until the last stride I was congratulating myself !
