Two major events for me today: Palace play Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi final and the Whitbread at Sandown.

So, for the big Sandown race my main bet would be:

Resplendent Glory – Sandown 4.10 9/2 Ew

This s a silly price, tbf, but it’s one that has jumped off the page and I will do it and hope for a pre-post drift. I’ll add a couple more Ew shots that I’ll have a mini interest in. Collectors Item is one that I’ve followed and looks overpriced at 50/1 and then, for my Mullins’ pick, O’Moore Park, who is thrown up in trip and may be lurking in that respect.

I’ll double up on two more:

Gaelic Warrior Sandown 2.25

Forza Orta – Ripon 5.05 Win single 9/2

Win Double.

I think that Oliver Glasner's management of his squad over the last three weeks has been excellent and, with our best, strongest side available and cast in the role of slight underdogs, I think we are well capable of beating Villa and I have a feeling that we will. My bet would be Crystal Palace to qualify.

AIn any event, It's a brilliant day for us Eagles and I'll enjoy it come what may. Just to think that in 2010 we were within minutes of the club not existing before being saved by Steve Parrish. Now look at us: the best squad we've ever assembled and 14 years in the top flight; unprecedented.

So proud.

Resplendent Grey.

I felt sure you were going to be putting up We’re Red and Blue in the 1.20. It’s not without a chance and was 25/1 last night. Best I can get now is 10/1.

I have a feeling Crystal Palace will win and have been saving themselves a bit in recent games. Villa, on the other hand have been working hard on all fronts. Although not a fan of Palace, I wish you well and hope you are a happy man around 7pm

I can remember Selhurstparkflyer winning either the Wokingham and/or the Stewards' Cup in the mid 90s. Probably trained by Jack Berry ( or it could have been Reg Akehurst ) , and I think its colours were red and blue.

I've been to four Palace games starting with the one at the Goldstone Ground on Boxing Day in the late 70s. They didn't win any of them and I can promise not to watch today's match on tv in case I am a jinx.

Thanks, mate: I will take any help whatsoever in whatever form. Haha. It's fair to say I'm desperate.
