A Christmas period that has see n me laid low, flattened by the bug that everyone's got (not covid).
Thankfully, I'm out of bed and ready to have a look at tomorrow runners.
I notice that two of mine tomorrow were highlighted by me in my blog on 26th November, if you care to cross-reference that. Also mentioned that day were Remastered and Senior Citizen. I see that both of those won next time out @ 11/2 and 12/1 respectively (SP but longer prices earlier).
I intend to back two others from that day's blog in the shape of:
Lounge Lizard - Warwick 2.45 10/1 Ew
Just to refresh, my last comments were:
"He’s only five, has had only six hurdle races in his career and they bang him straight into chasing. Mind you, looking at the blood, it says chasing through and through, doesn’t it?. Interesting that they’ve pitched him into this race: not a poor contest, by any stretch. The betting has him short enough for a novice thrown into handicap company. It could be that this one has shown something at home. Trianer Daly has had 6 winners from his last 12 runners, too. Remarkably good form."
After his race that day, I wrote:
"An intriguing runner. Still an unfurnished baby, to my eyes, who needs to fill his frame. There was a good deal of stable confidence, the way he was backed into favourite. One thing to note is his jumping; he looks a natural and he'll be one to follow for me. A proper stayer in the making imo."
The Daly stable is still in fine fettle and LL is out again over 2m 4f but this time dropped to Cl 4. I would like to think that he'll be a lot straighter this time around and I will follow him on an Ew basis.
Next up, I'll side with:
Malinello - Newbury 3.35 6/1 Ew
Here, again, are my previous post-race comments that day:
"Malinello was a good winner given how slowly the race was won. The breeding suggests marathon distance may well be the call and I'll certainly have him noted for the future. Importantly, he jumped like a good 'un. Only his 8th run under rules and 7yo."
So, even though he'll need further in time, this trip is about the same as lto and I'd be hoping for a true test of stamina. I see that top weight Bold Endevour made all lto, as did Nothin To Ask. Unanswered Prayers made just about all, too. It looks like pace will not be an issue. I would hope that this will play to Malinello's fortes: stamina and jumping.
So, my main Saturday bets will be:
2 x Ew Singles
Ew Double
Although not a main fancy, I'll also have a little interest in Walk In Clover - 2.53 Uttoxeter. Ew
Late wire:
This brings in:
Nina The Terrier - Newbury 1.50 10/1 Ew
I've been waiting to back this girl for some time over the further trip since her2m form does look very nice indeed and I have felt that a step up will suit.
A note of caution is sounded over the going. It may be she's suited by better ground but I can't afford to leave her unbacked. If the ground was G/S, I'd be much, much more confident.
Good luck
