ASCOT
2:00 Blanchland - battled hard to the line and lost out narrowly, but miles in front of the rest.
3:10 Aratus - disappointing, but clipped heels six out which threw him off balance for a while. Probably didn’t make that much difference, but won’t write him off just yet.
4:20 Crystal Caprice - Stoute is very patient and often brings a lot of his horse to the boil in the latter part of the season. Crystal Caprice won well, hitting the line hard looking as though she had some in hand.
HAYDOCK
1:45 Triple Time - It’s a shame there were only four runners in this. Andrea Atzeni had to fight hard to hold Triple Time back on his first run of the season and took about half an hour to stop him after the line. Looks classy.
2:20 Thundering - really disappointed, but never seemed to be put in the race. Going to have to guess when he’s “on”.
3:30 Minzaal - put a decent field to the sword and got to keep with him.
WOLVERHAMPTON
6:25 Cariad - yet another “down in class, up in distance, first handicap” good priced winner at 10/1 (16/1 overnight). Got a gypsy’s warning from the stewards, though, so may go a bit quiet albeit a lot in hand. Watch handicap adjustment.
