I’m quite excited about the Sandown card since I’ve got notebook horses I like in every race bar the last. Dangerous, that, isn’t it. As Marb says, I will have to hold off until tomorrow and we know state of the going and market movements.

1:50 - I had two noted for this, but we’ve lost EQUILATERAL who was my main hope. Left the way clear for ANNAF who has been running well at Group level culminating in a decent 3rd in the King’s Stand at Royal Ascot, albeit 50/1 and apparently unfancied. Mick Appleby has also got last year’s winner - RAASEL - running. Desert has got the hots for EXCITABLE after his pulverising Class 2 handicap performance at Windsor, but he has been found seriously wanting at Group level so I’ll leave him alone (a decision I’ll probably regret).

2:25 - Expected much better of INTELLOGENT at Ascot, but I might give him another chance.

3:00 - MAGICAL SUNSET ran well in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot and won the race on the far side, but all the pace was on the near side and she had little chance.

3:40 - In the Eclipse PADDINGTON is a class act, but I can’t desert EMILY UPJOHN who, too, looked a class act when winning the Coronation Cup at Epsom.

4:15 - MAJESTIC ran a cracking race into fourth in the Lincoln and followed up running well in Class 2 handicaps at Newmarket, York and last time a good second at Epsom. Deserves to go one better, but will probably find another beating him to the punch.

4:45 - CLASSIC was dropped in class here last time, but didn’t get the clearest of runs and it was a run better than the fourth place finish suggests. Remains dropped in class this time.

It never pays to try and outguess the master , but how Rossa Ryan manage to take ANNAF from the clear across to the rail behind a traffic jam I’ve no idea. Give him the benefit of the doubt and say ANNAF took himself there. Did well to extricate himself into fourth, but no good for me.

Until the last it looked as though my best result would be Intellogent who stayed in the stalls :D. Fortunately Classic came good at 6/1 which paid for the day.
