I’ve got so many of interest that I’m like a kid in a sweetshop dashing from one to another.
First up is Discko Des Plages - 3:07 Uttoxeter - I wrote about him mid December, but whether he is still ready to rock or being re-primed is the question. I would prefer a top jock on board, but I will probably have a nibble. 9/2 atm.
“The weather has conspired against them running Discko Des Plages, but he was entered both Thursday and Friday this week at Exeter and Uttoxeter respectively. It was significant that Brian Hughes had been booked for the Exeter run on Thursday, but that meeting has been called off. I’m hoping Uttoxeter will go ahead and it will be interesting to see who is booked for the ride.
His last run was at Uttoxeter on 20th November where he ran very comfortably - although his jumping was not as fluent as it might be - and he had just pushed himself into the lead quite strongly at the third last when he jinked on landing and unshipped James Best who, in falling, dragged the horse down! I say “pushed himself into the lead” because it looked to me as though Best was still trying to restrain him for a later effort. Anyway, I think he was travelling so well that he would have surely been involved in the finish. He runs off the same mark and I think he can win at this level, even though Exeter was probably the preferred option.”
Stay Away Fay - 2:40 Doncaster, 9/4 atm - I seem to recall PN saying this one was probably his best novice hurdler. Should see off these, but I’ll be interested to see how Hurricane Bay gets on pitched into Grade3 and markedly up in trip.
Pembroke - 3:35 Cheltenham - merits one of the few full bets I’ve had lately. Already taken some of the 2/1 on offer and will look to add tomorrow.
That’s all for now, still a few to look at.
ps: already mentioned Jupiter Du Gite, Stage Star, Fern Hill and Dusart on the thread.
