When I switched my mobile phone on this morning, it alerted me to a missed call but I didn't recognise the number, which looks like a mobile number.

Now, only a very few people know my mobile number and none would have any reason to phone me at the time the call was supposed to have come through.

Is it likely to be a scam? Or is there a way I can check who owns the number without opening up the mesage?
