I live just outside the M25 and whilst we are near one of the main beacons for the London aiport Circuit it is highly unusual to se or hear military aicraft except when there is a big flypast over Buck House. Two fighter jets have just gone over about a minute apart incredibly low and like bats out of hell. Odd at least.

Gone to blow a hole in the holdup on the M25, probably. Can fighter jets ever go less than like bats outta hell? I've yet to see one ambling quietly around an airbase, just checkin' out the view.
 
K. The point is that military jets don't usually fly into London except in flypasts. Flypasts are assembled around the Suffolk/Essex Border and then proceed at a leisurely pace in a SW direction that passes above our house. If there is an air problem they scramble from East Anglia.

The only other times I have seen them zoom in were on 9/11 and shortly after on a false alarm. Hence my question.

Armoured/not armoured? If armoured, yes, it's quite interesting; if not, not very. Double or single tail fin? Livery colour/camo/grey/black? We might be able to find out exactly whose they were and what they were if you noticed. I did get your point, Tout, especially as you mentioned it in your first post.
