16 years old & still racing, pulled up today at Newcastle

Made me wonder if he is the oldest horse still racing?

I recently contacted Weatherbys about this, this was their reply

"Thank you for your query. Unfortunately our records regarding details of horses in training are not in the public domain and therefore we are unable to advise about the training details of any horse unless it has raced or has a current published race entry. Over the years, although certainly not the norm, there have been several horses who have raced on after the age of 16. Mac Vidi ran in the 1980 Cheltenham Gold Cup as a 15 y-o and ran again the following season; Sonny Somers, trained by Fred Winter, also won two chases 1980 when 18 years old. Other examples include Raise an Argument who won three point to points as a 17 year old and White Paper who ran in three points to points in 1991 as a 19 year old having won the previous year and having been a prolific winner previously.
