Fair play to them, they really do offer great value. They are often best-priced on a lot of the daily races, and antepost for the Grand National they are best-priced or joint best-priced on the top FIFTEEN in the betting, and indeed most of the others also. Impressive.

Offering the best odds is as useful as a chocolate fireguard when you can't get a bet on! Will is spot on, they must choke every time they see a bet bigger than a fiver go through the bet ticker. I can't get more than pennies - and I mean pennies - on with them. That's been par for the course for me for a few years now. They will lay me to win TWENTY FIVE QUID!!!!!!! Fecking joke of a firm.

At this point, I'd like to offer a word of thanks to Shadow Leader.

Some time ago, I mentioned on here that I regularly found Sportingbet/Sportingodds offering the best or joint-best prices about some of my fancies. I never had a problem getting bets on despite being well in profit. However, I soon hit a run of losers with this firm which had me really scratching my head. No change in my methods, the form was generally working out well and I was making money elsewhere, just not with this firm.

Shads mentioned that it was probably because their odds calculator was closely tied to Betfair moves, and drifters at Betfair tended to be at more generous odds with Sportingbet. Since then, I resisted backing my original fancy if it was at logner odds with this firm and looked elsewhere. I honestly can't recall missing out on a winner and I've avoided countless losers. In fact I can't remember the last bet I had with the firm.

For some reason, my account with Blue Square is far and away the most profitable followed, believe it or not, by Ladbrokes.

Very glad to be of some help, especially financial, DO. :)

Sportingodds do in fact have software I believe which automatically push out prices when they drift on Betfair. Most firms do it manually as and when they notice and after they have weighed up the market as a whole.

Consider me told. I actually tried to get £100 on Slim Pickings earlier at 12/1 and they wouldn't accept the bet. Hah, oh well Betfair obliged :)

Another excellent example today...

When I checked the prices without Master Minded - fancying Tamarinbleu - the few that were offering odds were going 7/4 and 2/1 but Spb were going 9/4. That was enough to put me off and I didn't have a bet on the race.
