Suit Question

I have a Ted Baker suit jacket that I purchased on it`s own a couple of years back. It`s navy blue with a very light kind of dark red check pattern. The sort of jacket you`d see Stephen Fry wearing on IQ.

My question is would it be possible for a Taylor to knock me up a pair of trousers that match it? I don`t know if it`s a stupid question or not, that`s why I`m asking it under the anonymity of the Internets.

Depends on how original the pattern is. My guess is that it is not a run of the mill pattern. The tailor might be able to find a near patterned cloth but remember cloth fades over time and there would not be an exact colour match.
First why not try all the Ted Baker stockists sites or even e-mail the company itself quoting any reference numbers on any label. As a previous years model so to speak you might pick it up at a discount.

Most Taylors really aren't that helpful in this regard; I asked ex world snooker champ Denis if he could raise the hem of my best trousers and he told me to f*ck off. You just can't get the help these days......

I just typed Taylor into Google Images to find a pic of that fella from Duran Duran or the Queen drummer.

I really should turn SafeSearch back on one of these days...

Would doubt they could do an exact match due to nature of dyes etc. Think the idea of emailing them might be best bet.

If you have used the jacket it will have faded and changed colour. A 'nearly' matching suit is the only sartorial disaster that rivals a tie that doesn't fall on the first trouser button.

Forget it Euro. You are worth a new suit.

Did anyone ever get anything from the men from Hong Kong who shack up in a hotel for a few days and sell bespoke suits. There is one in the Four Seasons in Ballsbridge at the moment.

Suit, jacket, trousers and a couple of shirts for €350.

Sounds good, but I'm too inclined to think it will be a load of shite to waste my time turning up. Of course if somebody knows different...

Your right to be wary. I wouldn't touch it unless I got the nod from a trusted source.

Makes sense. The jacket works ok with a pair of nice jeans to be fair. The only suit I have doesn`t fit since I started going to the gym.

Sounds like a panama hat is in order to be honest Euro. Some chino's, a panama and a lovely jacket like that and you'll be right at home at York's Ebor meeting.

I`m over 40 and going bald, chinos are the last thing I need. This thread is really starting to depress me.
