Summer Competitions

Let's get the footy out of the way first, I'll run a competition on the Euros based on Bar The Bull's format in previous World cups and Euros, but obviously if BTB turns up again and wants to run it that's what we'll do as it was his baby.

I'm in the planning stage for various racing competitions but the Royal Ascot and the League Of Neightions (Galway Festival and Glorious Goodwood )competitions will run as in previous years. I'm planning on running a tipping competition for the whole Flat season too, one option was suggested by Slim a few years ago, basically one selection in any midweek race you choose and the other on any Saturday meeting for a predetermined number of weeks or maybe one based on the top 50 or so races of the Summer between the Guineas meeting and the big Ascot meeting at the end of the season.

Also sounding out other forums to see if there is any interest in an inter forum competition based around Aintree. Maybe have four forums with the first semi final on the Thursday, the second on the Friday and then the Final and Third Place play off on Grand National Day. If no interest from other forums, maybe something we can run in house.

Looking further ahead I'm presuming the two Winter competitions will run again and I'll run a Deadpool competition as from January.

If there's insufficient interest on any competition, that's cool we'll just drop it and move on to the next one as and when it comes round.

Forgot to add, could run The Chase competition we did two or three years ago starting in September and finishing on Arc Day or have been contemplating a placepot competition sometime as well

There was a forum "daddy" comp we had in 2013 that culminated in a final on Guineas weekend that seemed to go down quite well too,if I recall.

I've a Summer competition sorted now which will run for 30 weeks starting on March 27th ending on October 22nd and the Royal Ascot and League of Neightions competitions (Glorious Goodwood and Galway Festival) will form part of the bigger competition. It will take some winning and I'm seeking anyone who might be minded to sponsor it to add a bit of spice to it.

To a lesser degree I will also run a Grand National sweepstake ( as in sweepstake. not a tipping competition ! ) so small prize(s) would be good. Won't say too much about it just yet but the horses will be drawn by an outside source.

A Euros 2016 competition is all set up too, using BTB's format, subject to him not reappearing.

Not making much progress with the inter forum gig, Fat Jockey though have indicated they are happy "put it out there" to see if their members are interested, so I've suggested we wait until after Cheltenham, I messaged Cormack on TRF a few days ago but not had a reply and I registered at OHRacing a few days ago but appear not to have a means of posting "until my account is activated" which hasn't happened yet.

Roddy I sent you a PM re your offer a few days ago, don't know if you have that facility activated ?
