Summer Hols - Valencia?

It's getting towards the time I should be booking the Summer Holidays.

Generally I find it's not worth the hassle of going anywhere if I don't go for 2 weeks, and I tend to get bored after a week in the usual sun resorts.

RTE did a section on their holiday program last week about Valencia, which seems to be a city break and sun resort all in one, which seems ideal, but they do have a habit of not finding fault with anything they do.

My worry is, being so near a major city - does the beach end up being hugely overcrowded? Is there an effort made to keep the water and beach clean for swimmers etc? Is it expensive in comparison with somewhere like the south of France?

Any comments Suny?
 
I am hoping to have a 2 week holiday this year for the first time in over 10 years. I have not had a week off for over a year, and the thought of having a holiday is keeping me going. Now I have a new addition to the family (the 6 month old pup) it may be a cottage in the country somewhere. I don't care where it is I JUST NEED A HOLIDAY!!! :cry:
 
I know but it still sounded good!! You poor thing, how do you cope for those two weeks of work? What do you do these days? Is it consulting work?
 
Even then, I suspect they're working holidays, Brian - I can't see you ever not treating them as a profit-oriented jolly!
