I quite fancy Misaro today in the 3.05 Salisbury.

Last two years

All runs: 14% stike rate

June/July: 1401311146 = 50%
Other months: 00485795343824206943890843 = 0%

0-4k:8575343824231436 = 6%
5k-6k:149111 = 67%
£7k+: 4000- 40694389- 08- = 0%

When meeting both conditions = 1111

Acts on Good + G/F
Won this last year off 73, then won off 83, now racing off 76

in a similar vein

7.10 Windsor

El Dececy

Last 2 years

Record in sellers: 1111

even ignoring that...

9 Days or less: 6311108031618011
10 Days or more: 60007323806576523707

Good/Firm: 603323110316101017
Other going: 007610806587652387

<£4k: 073323111211117
£4k+: 600608065876530368070

9 or less + Good/Firm + <£4k: 3111111

There are no definate front runners here to take him on..also stays further so can sustain a bit of early if that happens.

Currently 4.1 on betfair

I'll be having a dabble

I think it would be a useful tool for serious punters to know why horses get pulled out, other than where it's due to unruly behaviour at the start, and not something that was known early on in the day. The Declarations Clerk in the weighing-room puts out a sheet for every race, with every horse's name on it, and trainers or their reps come in during the morning and sign in the horse as present, or sign it off as withdrawn with the reason why: lame, failed to eat up, the going, vet's certificate, etc. When there are announcements by ATR and RUK about withdrawals, they're made well after the horses have been signed in, so there's no real reason that I can think of why the reasons shouldn't be mentioned. They're not State secrets. And it wouldn't do the RP's database too much harm to note the reasons for withdrawals, either.

Veering slightly off-topic (but not much), I'd also like to see trainers having to explain why, when they've withdrawn a horse in the morning due to the ground being too soft or too firm, they run the animal in the future on the very ground they've declared was unsuitable. This happens quite often, and I've found it very curious that the BHA doesn't seem to have a panel of excuse-watchers who monitor these little ploys.

Badly drawn, better handicapped horse stayed in, easier option a couple of days later:whistle:

It does often state in the RP the reason for withdrawal but not always. The journalists doing the close up comments tend to know as they make a note of it but since not all close up comments are done on the track now that information doesn't always get through.

Salisbury is a track which always gets loads of non-runners; the ground has rarely changed from at declaration time either, it's usually got 'firm' somewhere in the title. However there are always a plethora of withdrawals on the day, I'm inclined to think that in the races that go around the loop (ie over 1m) it probably has something to do with the draw...

Will have another go on Misaro in the 5.10 Haydock - suitable conditions again today..El Dececy is in it too but that one does better in non handicaps
