Grasshopper: Jolly wins

WHITEHORSE: DEPENDS ON GOING

Comment From reet hi guys

Grasshopper: evening reet

Fist: Very hard to oppose as long as he handles the course

JamesRB: i managed to quickly lob a few pennies on MTOY at 4/1 as he was crossing the line at newbury. wouldn't back at the prices now.

Fist: Hi Reet
betsmate: Nice price James.

Grasshopper: "Fist in Sane and Reasonable Comment Shocker!"

JamesRB: melodic e/w probably a solid play

reet: Who's 15/8?

Fist: lol

Paul: I'm sticking with Jezki

Grasshopper: Pretty-hand second-string anyway

WHITEHORSE: fancy champagne fever e/w

swedish chef: Happy with Dodging Bullets e/way at 14/1 - fav should win but have doubts - I'll be sure of him after this race

Comment From Jerry Maguire In

Grasshopper: evening JM

betsmate: Ok, I think MTOY will set the tone for the festival

betsmate: Let's keep going

betsmate: Racing Post Arkle Challenge Trophy Chase Grade 1 Cl1 2m

Simonsig (4/6), Overturn (5/2), Arvika Ligeonniere (8), Captain Conan (12), Benefficient (25), Aupcharlie (33), Baily Green (33), Majala (40), His Excellency (50), Marito (50), Tap Night (50), Viva Colonia (66)

JamesRB: clean round and simonsig wins on steel

WHITEHORSE: fav to win by a mile

JamesRB: soft ground big neg for overturn

Paul: Simonsig all the way

Grasshopper: I'll be place-laying Overturn - won't go a yard on the ground.....something about Simonsig just makes me hesitate

Comment From Kauto Cheltenian overpriced???

swedish chef: Happy again with Simonsig ante post but will have stake saver on Overturn

Kauto: Whoops bit late

Fist: I simply can't make up my mind but I backed Overturn at 14/1 ew because he looked the only danger 12 months ago and nothing has changes

JamesRB: chances they decide to go with capt conan in this after soft ground & dynaste going jewson?

JamesRB: he'd worry me more than overturn tbh
betsmate: What do we think of Arvika Ligeonniere ?

Grasshopper: Ground coming his way......not a convincing enough jumper for me

Fist: AL will fall over his own feet at the pace these horses will go at

swedish chef: Capt Conan good e/way if going for this

Kauto: Really weak race really

Grasshopper: i cant imagine the yard will switch CC from Jeeson myself

Fist: CC would be tailed off by halfway way tooslow

JamesRB: lets hope not

Jerry Maguire: Arkle - Take on Overturn with Bennificient and Bailey Green w/o Simonsig

Grasshopper: So we've established JM is Slim then

betsmate: I'm guessing so.

reet: take on Overturn with anything

betsmate: Ok then how about a handicap to bring us back down to earth?

JLT Specialty Handicap Chase Grade 3 Cl1 3m110y

Our Mick (6), Cantlow (8), Fruity ORooney (10), Alfie Sherrin (14), Opening Batsman (14), The Package (14), Loch Ba (16), Carlito Brigante (20), Cloudy Too (20), Duke Of Lucca (20), Merry King (20), Midnight Chase (20), Monkerty Tunkerty (20), No Secrets (20), Quantitativeeasing (20), Sire Collonges (20), Toner dOudairies (20), Chartreux (25), Knockara Beau (25), Nadiya De La Vega (25)

Comment From bigfow simonsig is something special

Jerry Maguire: Indeed - Simonsig wins. Use Bennificient and Bailey Green e/w in multiples on day 1

WHITEHORSE: opening batsman good e/w

JamesRB: don't think opening batsman goes for this

reet: I like Openeing batsman, but haven't a clue where he runs?

bigfow: like the look of duke of lucca for this

JamesRB: don't think he even goes to fez

Kauto: Does sire colognes run?

Paul: Fruity O'rooney owes me, so I'm giving him one more chance

swedish chef: I like Fruity O Rooney but hope to get bigger price on the day

Grasshopper: I look at this today, and the front two look pretty solid. I would state an outright prefernce for Cantlow, if it wasn't for the fact he's trained by an arsehole

Fist: Only worry about overturn is he doesn't really get home in high class company.....both Rock on Ruby and Grandouet beat him easily over hurdles and the same thing could happen again with Simonsig
treetangle: Concern about ground but Loch Ba looks on a decent mark - 25/1 for a while but steadily supported despite not being tipped at previews

Jerry Maguire: I have a mildly dark one here. The 25/1 for Nadiya de la Vega is a bet. You might get 20/1 5 places on the day. It's a bet. Unexposed at this trip and loves the course.

betsmate: Mildly dark?

Comment From edgt Having read the Monkerty story during the week would love to see him doing well

betsmate: Ok championship race time:

Stan James Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy Grade 1 Cl1 2m110y

Hurricane Fly (2), Zarkandar (7/2), Rock On Ruby (9/2), Grandouet (8), Binocular (9), Cinders And Ashes (12), Countrywide Flame (16), Khyber Kim (50), Balder Succes (100)

Jerry Maguire: It's hardly a low profile horse i.e mildly dark!

Grasshopper: no opinion

Kauto: Will the ground help HF

JamesRB: ive been against zarkandar and to a lesser extent the fly all season. i think it's ended up turning out nicely for them.

betsmate: I'm not sure how much more money I'm going to waste on Binocular, but that price just keeps catching my eye.

bigfow: zarkander to grind it out

Grasshopper: ground will be perfect for HF

swedish chef: Dutched Zarkander and Grandouet ante post happy with that position

Paul: I've backed Grandouet, but I fear RoR is underated

edgt: Where is the pace?

JamesRB: pace will be key

betsmate: I think HF will show his class this year.

Grasshopper: ROR and Zark will have to pout it on

Jerry Maguire: The ground will be against a few in the Champion. Loads of mileage for e/w bets given its close to the dead 8 especially if like me you want to take on HF.

JamesRB: strong pace and i think zark wins

JamesRB: less pace i think fly wins

Grasshopper: put it on

WHITEHORSE: Rock on Ruby with blinkers on will go close

reet: Taken 9/2R OR today on strength of blinkers, otherwise ghaven't a clue.

Kauto: The more you look the more it could be set up perfect for HF

Kauto: No pace, ground

Paul: To be fair should be a good race if nothing else

edgt: Agree Kauto

JamesRB: i still wouldnt be surprised if grandouet ran a big race. given what happened with binocular in 2010.

Jerry Maguire: I'm on Binocular at 25/1 so just looking for cover shots e/w.

Grasshopper: I just hope he totally humiliates the oppsoition and wins 15L...that's all...not too much to ask, is it?

Jerry Maguire: Soft ground and a fast pace and HF might not get home

Grasshopper: That's The Fear speaking

betsmate: Good race, but let's keeping moving. No sign of Irish Stamp yet, anyone else want to talk about:

Glenfarclas Handicap Chase (A Cross Country Chase) Cl2 3m7f

Arabella Boy (5), Balthazar King (6), Outlaw Pete (6), Uncle Junior (8), Bostons Angel (10), Big Shu (14), Sizing Australia (14), Any Currency (16), Saddlers Storm (20), Shakervilz (20), Shalimar Fromentro (20), Sacree Tiepy (25), Triggerman (25), A New Story (33), Dashing George (33), Doctor Pat (33), Drawn N Drank (33), Midnight Haze (33), Northern Alliance (33), Pearse (33) , Victrix Gale (33), Another Jewel (40), Double Dizzy (40), Freneys Well (40), Gullible Gordon (40), Leac An Scail (40), Pentiffic (40), Wedger Pardy (40), Paco Jack (50), Passato (66), Clear Hills (100)

Fist: I have a plan for the Champion Hurdle because of the ground. Everyone knows I have backed Grandouet Writing will be on the wall by the 2nd last or just after I reckon we'll be down to a 2 horse race.....Dutch on both in running

reet: Pace will be OK, and the best horse will win on the day.

Jerry Maguire: No

betsmate: :)

Grasshopper: No opinion on X-Country, but would like to see Bostons Angel run well

Paul: Balthazar king all the way

JamesRB: won on balthazar king last year. think he'd do better on good ground. no idea really if i'm honest.

Jerry Maguire: BK wil go off fav. No other opinion

swedish chef: Arabella Boy's form looks strong - e/way will be surprised if out of the first 4

edgt: A New Story ew. He loves this place given how he ran last year after his fall in Nov or Dec previous

betsmate: Ok then, what about:

OLBG Mares´ Hurdle (Registered As The David Nicholson Mares´ Hurdle) Grade 2 Cl1 2m4f

Quevega (4/7), Une Artiste (11/2), Kentford Grey Lady (9), Swing Bowler (12), Tarla (16), Alasi (20), Shop DJ (20), Zuzka (20), Ma Filleule (22), She Ranks Me (25), Swincombe Flame (33), Kauto Shiny (40), Stone Light (40), Cloudy Spirit (50), Kaffie (50), Prima Porta (50), Maes Choice (66), Miss Milbourne (66), Shadow Eile (66), Sirene dAinay (66) , Lady Kathleen (150), Epee Celeste (300)

Grasshopper: Quevega can't get beat

Fist: Backing Triggerman always do and usually lay him off in running

Kauto: Move on

Paul: Quevega yawn

Fist: Quevega has a chance..........off winning by a hurdle

JamesRB: worse bets than une artiste e/w. course form. goes on soft.

swedish chef: again happy with Une Artiste e/way at 16/1 and I think she'll win

Jerry Maguire: Kentford Grey Lady e/w for multiples

edgt: Five in a row is no yawning matter Paul

WHITEHORSE: with g/s or heavy going Ma Filleule E/w

Grasshopper: every year there's on put up against her, and every year it's the same outcome....good thing

JamesRB: do all people who think quevega is a stone cold cert backing her?

bigfow: quevega and simonsig double

Fist: Real bad form slim cant have her

Grasshopper: depends how the first four races go!

JamesRB: because i can't bring myself to do it when she hasn't run for a year.

JamesRB: not at the prices

Grasshopper: same prep as last 2 years

Kauto: She will drift in morning

Paul: wont even have a go in this race

betsmate: Ok thanks:

Rewards4Racing Novices´ Handicap Chase (Listed Race) Cl1 2m4f110y

Colour Squadron (7), Carlito Brigante (8), The Druids Nephew (9), Attaglance (10), Shangani (10), Toner Doudairies (12), Vulcanite (16), White Star Line (16), Arthurs Pass (20), Bobowen (20), Forgotten Gold (20), Hazy Tom (20), Kapga de Cerisy (20), Kruzhlinin (20), Ohio Gold (20), Rouge Et Blanc (20), Arbeo (25), Ballypatrick (25), Eastlake (25), Howards Legacy (25) , Johns Spirit (25), Rajdhani Express (25), Rebel Rebellion (25), Tour dArgent (25), Chartreux (28), 33 Bar

JamesRB: obviously but i think its the case of being totally unaware if she's still her old self

Fist: Ruby said the other day she's in fantatic form but he hasn't rudden her the girls do

Grasshopper: Cartlito too well handicapped to ignore in this

treetangle: Plenty at the front end want better ground

reet: Should be some good prices on the shorties - morning of the race, the bookies will be vying hard for the punter's pounds

Kauto: Toner or Druids Nephew. Druids desperate to go left handed think he shites up

Comment From Del boy I'd be all over carlito brigante for this

Paul: Carlito Brigante for this, cant have colour squadron awful jumper

Marble: Can someone wake me up when we get to day three? Cheers. :)

Jerry Maguire: Does Shagani run here? Well handicapped horse.

Grasshopper: evening delboy

betsmate: Anything else for Day 1 before I move on?

Del boy: Good evening all. Looking forward to rubbishing people's opinions...

Fist: Saint Are will win a decent race one day...maybe this one of he runs

Grasshopper: charge on Martin

betsmate:

Back In Focus (4), Boston Bob (9/2), Rival DEstruval (6), Buddy Bolero (7), Merry King (9), Godsmejudge (10), Lyreen Legend (14), Vesper Bell (14), Hawkes Point (16), Tofino Bay (16), Real Milan (20), Sea Of Thunder (20), Tour des Champs (20), 33 Bar

Paul: Back in focus nailed on with this rain

swedish chef: Boston Bob if he runs

WHITEHORSE: Back In Focus banker bet of week

Fist: Back in Focus in a canter

JamesRB: boston bob goes rsa

Jerry Maguire: Tough race. Merry King token selection.

Kauto: Thats all BIF can do canter all day lomg

Del boy: Boston bob was the Irish banker last year, I know he has looked slow but hel hardly need to be quick for this, and surely they can't have been that wrong about him last year. He's the pick for me

bigfow: back in focus easy with godsmejudge ew

edgt: Given Derek o Connor was booked so early Rival D'Estruval must be thereabouts

betsmate: Lots of BIF fans then...

betsmate: moving on...

betsmate: Neptune Investment Management Novices´ Hurdle (Registered Baring Bingham Novices´ Hurdle) Grade 1 Cl1 2m5f

Pont Alexandre (7/4), The New One (9/2), Taquin Du Seuil (11/2), Rule The World (9), Champagne Fever (12), Chatterbox (12), Puffin Billy (12), Melodic Rendezvous (14), Two Rockers (20), Un Atout (20), Mozoltov (33), Cause of Causes (40), Minsk (40), Sizing Gold (40), Caid Du Berlais (50), Bonisland (66), I Shot The Sheriff (66), Ifandbutwhynot (66), Romeo Americo (66), Up To Something (66) , Sir Pitt (100), Ubak (100), Le Reve (150), Wake Your Dreams (150)

Grasshopper: PA all the way

bigfow: if not affected the new one

WHITEHORSE: PA go baby

Del boy: Ground is going to be key to the week really. Until I see it I won't believe any description.

Kauto: Where's the price gone on PA thought he was 9/4 last week

Comment From handsofstone taquin de seuil

treetangle: Not sure Irish form amounts to a great deal - Two Rockers potentially the best King has trained.

swedish chef: I'll chance an e/way on Chatterbox on the day

edgt: Rule The World a good price ew

JamesRB: good race. pont alexandre is the most hyped horse of the festival maybe alongside simonsig.

Del boy: Hard to back something at 7/4 in a race like this

JamesRB: i've done chatterbox e/w

Paul: I like what I've seen of Rule the world so e/w for me

Jerry Maguire: Seriously front end race - the 2nd and 3rd fav e/w is the bet depending on your preference.

Grasshopper: PA reminds me of Monsignor, they way he devoiursas the ground....stone-cold cert, imo

Fist: Jonjo's shoud win this solid ew bet at wrose

handsofstone: chatterbox underated. a real trier

bigfow: PA will be a better chaser

JamesRB: taquin de seuil appeals. can't have the new one after his loss to at fishers cross.

Jerry Maguire: For me Rule The World @ 9/1 e/w is the bet. PA is a seriously silly price.

betsmate: So we think Boston Bob goes for the:

RSA Chase (Grade 1) Cl1 3m110y

Boston Bob (7/2), Unioniste (4), Hadrians Approach (7), Goulanes (8), Back In Focus (12), Lord Windermere (14), Lyreen Legend (14), Super Duty (16), Houblon Des Obeaux (20), Sire Collonges (25), Terminal (33), Dedigout (40), Real Milan (40), Tofino Bay (40), Fourjacks (50), Argocat (66), Marito (66), Toner Doudairies (66), Theatrical Star (100), Vintage Star (100)

JamesRB: terrible renewal

WHITEHORSE: Unioniste for me

Grasshopper: All over Goulanes and feeling quietly confident.....poor edition of the race for me, and BB not convinced me yet

treetangle: Backed Unioniste but very disappointed with him last time

edgt: Lord Windemere hopefully. Put Churchtown back on the map.

JamesRB: likely no bet but seen few tips for houblon des obeaux e/w

swedish chef: Boston Bob to win

handsofstone: goulanes looks a real stayer, very impressive beating super duty

Fist: BG said in his Column he's sweet on his chances in this......do for me cos I haven't a clue to be honest

Jerry Maguire: Wide open here. I think Unioniste goes off FAV. Goulanes and Lord Windemere for me in a wide open heat.

Paul: I think Lord Windermere but I agree not the greatest renewal

bigfow: small bet on the day

Jerry Maguire: Goulanes is overpriced. He'll go off sub 5/1

betsmate: Anyone got a clue who might win:

Sportingbet Queen Mother Champion Chase Grade 1 Cl1 2m

Sprinter Sacre (2/7), Sizing Europe (6), Cue Card (8), Finians Rainbow (14), Mail De Bievre (16), Sanctuaire (20), Wishfull Thinking (22), Somersby (25), Realt Dubh (40), Tataniano (100)

Marble: Sizing Europe has an abundance of class andill run above expectations. Until Sprinter does him over and proves he is the next Arkle I will continue to beleive there is a race to be had. If I'm remebered for nothing else in life and on forums i just want it to be that I knew all along how good Sizing Europe was. Won't be 5/1 on the day if he runs. COME ON SIZING EUROPE!!!:)

JamesRB: where's kinkeel? he'd hack up.

Fist: I fancy one in the QMCC

betsmate: Copy and Paste prepared marble. I like it.

Jerry Maguire: Santuaire e/w a token selection

Grasshopper: Just hope to see a proper stellar performance from the fave

JamesRB: i don't think sizing would beat cue card over 2m marble. got a feeling best days are behind him.

Paul: Got my £20 quid on with Coral at evs ait back and enjoy

Marble: hhahaha

Grasshopper: sanctuaire is a MUTT, Slim! :-)

WHITEHORSE: like sanctuaire too

swedish chef: No value left in the race imo - one to watch

handsofstone: like watching frankel, you just wanna see a good performance

bigfow: interesting to see hoe mail de brivere takes to the fences

Jerry Maguire: Grassy - look back over the years - The MUTTS love that hill

Grasshopper: He will fly them, and get them all at it

Paul: I fell for Sanctuaire earlier in the season and backed him been disappointing for me

Fist: Lotta people would rather risk it than investing in a bank be millions bet on him

Grasshopper: Can't have it Slim....a total coward

WHITEHORSE: sanctuaire aim at start of season was gold cup

Marble: I love the fact at 11 some people still go on like Sizing is short of top class

Grasshopper: right...off to cook some nice fillets.....back later

Jerry Maguire: Swedish Chef - You're nuts! It's bad e/w. there is loads of value!!!

Comment From TOUT SEUL Lord Windermere Good win chance greatew ground suits

reet: Sanctuuaire won't last home, but he's no dog.

Fist: Doesn't get up the hill surprised PN is bothered........

betsmate: Sorry Tout a bit slow by me there!

JamesRB: sanctuaire is just a mental. depends what is in his head on the day. case example being that race at kempton over xmas. was bizarre.

Fist: To say the least james

betsmate: Quick fire. One horse each please in the:

TOUT SEUL: SS good thing sails in

bigfow: cotton mill

WHITEHORSE: Cotton Mill as long as he jumps the last

Jerry Maguire: Inish Island the best of the Irish here

reet: cotton mill gors for County

edgt: Better than Tennis Cap Jerry?

treetangle: Pendra much too short - potential non-stayer, lacks experience and stable still struggling. Ground has come right for Master Of The Sea.

Comment From trudij captain sunshine if he runs

TOUT SEUL: Have being backing Edeymi for ages big top up NRNB. Classic job.

Jerry Maguire: Yes. Clever money around for it. WM always has one for this.

Fist: Cotton Mill won't win on the ground Saddlers Risk ran well last time

trudij: (each way for CS !!)

WHITEHORSE: Sorry time for dinner have a good festival everyone

betsmate: Ok how about:

JamesRB: nicholls/walsh bullish about Saphir Du Rheu

JamesRB: other than that.......i'm drawing a blank

Paul: Saphir Du Rheu if I have too

betsmate: Who looks forward to the Fred Winter SC?

Jerry Maguire: I seriously like Stocktons Wing here.

treetangle: Only banker is there will be money for half the field.

edgt: Stocktons Wing for me too

Fist: probably the wrong half

swedish chef: Nicholls doesn't realise Sametegal is the best chsnce of his 3

betsmate: Let's wrap up Day 2 then:

Jerry Maguire: Opinions on Saphir Du Rheu? Can't go off 7/1

JamesRB: leaving this one well & truly alone

Marble: Welsh Harry was right about Red Sherlock, he 100 percent can't win :)

treetangle: Golantilla looked awful in gallop, recent money for Le Vent D'Antan

Jerry Maguire: Curve ball here. Blackmail to go off fav

handsofstone: le vant dantan connections reckon he is better than cheltenian

edgt: Tony Martin's fairly hacked in Naas bumper. One of his two

Paul: All I know about this race is Sheild would be about 66/1 if it wasn't trained by O'Brien

Fist: I'd be all over Tistory for this but he had a setback but working well now but NH hates this race Could be going to Aintree

betsmate: Patrick Mullins tipping up Union Dues as his Charity Bet if I remember?

Jerry Maguire: I can't think of 4 horses that will finish behind Shield - Useless

Marble: This preview has helped me clear my thoughts, i pretty much fancy feck all for the first two days.:(

TOUT SEUL: Big Shame for Michael O

trudij: very :(

betsmate: Ok any more for Day 2, or shall I move on?

Jerry Maguire: Patrick Mulllins already put up a N/R for the race so ignore him!

Kauto: Dynaste banker of meet

JamesRB: did dynaste at 11/4 NRNB last week. obbiously wish i'd taken meatier prices for those not doing NRNB.

JamesRB: but i wouldnt back him below 2/1

handsofstone: dynaste does look good i must admit, hard to see him losing

Paul: I like Capt Conan don't think the last race was his true form

Fist: WM is about 2 for 20 both his runners in the 2st 2 races drifted like barges and both lost...........anyone a bit worried?

JamesRB: vibes are slightly iffy

TOUT SEUL: Boringly Thefav. once again

swedish chef: Dynaste should win - should't he?

Jerry Maguire: Dynaste to certainty here. Shouldn't go off shorter than 7/4 but probably will

Marble: They've messed people about with the target, but I can't get away from the jolly, though I'm right off Davcid Pipe at the minute

edgt: N Meade runs Texas Jack here according to ATR so is a huge price ew

betsmate: Pin stickers at the ready:

TOUT SEUL: Edgt One to consider

Paul: If Lord Windermere runs well in the RSA I can see texas jack going well here

Comment From michael_o Thanks for the mention TS. Would probably have been pulled anyway due to the testing ground.

JamesRB: sam winner is already a big gamble by the looks of it. will leave the race alone myself i would think.

Paul: Sam Winner for me

Jerry Maguire: TAKE NOTE - Shutthedoor goes off fav here. Take any 7/1 or bigger. Will SP =

trudij: Boringly - another each way vote for Captain Sunshine for this (with the proviso again about running!!) Really think he will place - just a case of which race they decide to go for.

Marble: I backed and won on Ely Brown last time, i was very impressed thought itv was a good performance. E?W

Jerry Maguire: Will SP 4/1 or shorter.

treetangle: Reckon there will be a problem with Shutthefrontdoors jumping even at this trip

TOUT SEUL: One of the 85 previews I've seen mentioned Jetson. No bet for me

betsmate: So what do we think about:

Ryanair Chase (Registered As The Festival Trophy Chase) Grade 1 Cl1 2m5f

Cue Card (7/2), First Lieutenant (7/2), Riverside Theatre (6), Sizing Europe (6), Champion Court (8), Menorah (8), Albertas Run (14), Finians Rainbow (16), For Non Stop (16), Ghizao (33), Walkon (40)

JamesRB: if going for it, and he suspect he will, first lieutenant for me

Kauto: Cue Card for me ground be against Fl

handsofstone: i take an ew chance on walkon if it runs

Paul: First Lieutenant for me, horses for courses

swedish chef: Going for Ghizao to place - I think he needs 3m now but should be staying on at the death

reet: Sizing, if he runs

Marble: Riverside won thAscot chase on soft ground a while back by about 10 lengths, do any others think he might actually appreciate some give in the ground as I do?

Jerry Maguire: Put up FL on the forum at 10/1. He's going to be hard to beat.

TOUT SEUL: Echo James though I backed him for GC last April

Jerry Maguire: There was no way he was going for GC with SDC.

betsmate: How old is Albertas run???

JamesRB: FL, CC to chase him home. can't have riverside given his previous cheltenham runs. it was a minor miracle he won last year.

Fist: He's in good form

Kauto: Albertas needs quicker ground

reet: Alberta's best on top of the ground

Fist: Hates the soft Jonjo wont run him

Marble: Who Riverside Fist? He has been there and done it and can have his day again, so long as sizing don't show up.

treetangle: 12? Terrific horse but this is probably a step too far

Fist: Was talking about AR Martin

betsmate: Moving on then:

Ladbrokes World Hurdle Grade 1 Cl1 3m

Oscar Whisky (4), Quevega (4), Reve De Sivola (4), Bog Warrior (9), Peddlers Cross (9), Solwhit (9), Wonderful Charm (10), Get Me Out Of Here (11), Smad Place (14), So Young (25), Fiveforthree (33), Zaidpour (33), Oscara Dara (40), Back In Focus (50), Celestial Halo (50), Cross Kennon (100), American Spin (200), Cloudy Spirit (200)

swedish chef: I'm on So Young and Zaidpour e/way at 3 figure prices so hoping they run. I'd fancy Zaidpour if he did and Mullins said he would only run if it was soft which looks likely.

Paul: Bog Warrior if the ground stays soft

Kauto: The wetter it gets keener I am on bog warrior

Marble: Get Me Out Of Here to be well backed on the day and break his duck at Cheltenham. 2nd so many times he deserves it

edgt: Agree

reet: dinner time. G >Lto all

TOUT SEUL: Is Smad Place up to this?

handsofstone: bog warrior will love the ground and his form stands out

Jerry Maguire: So Young e/w @ 25/1. Boat Race

JamesRB: did oscar whisky antepost at a big price just after i heard big bucks was injured. was only a small stake though. i don't think he'll win anyway tbh.

JamesRB: everyone seems to be negative on reve de sivola but he seems a worthy fav to me.

treetangle: So many doubts about stamina, jumping, ground so with the stable finding some form had a liitle each-way on Cross Kennon. Probably not good enough but easy to see a strange result

Fist: GMOH wouldn't want it soft he cant raise a gallop in it ffs dont back him I did months ago

Jerry Maguire: TS - only on good ground would he place prospects

handsofstone: oscar whisky not a true 3 miler, phoney fave i reckon

Fist: Peddler's Cross should just about win the WH

Kauto: Reve will love soft as well got form in book

Paul: Too many bad vibes coming out about Reve which has put me off

Fist: Reve is a boat just as well the grounds soft LOL

betsmate: How about this then:

Byrne Group Plate (A Handicap Chase) Grade 3 Cl1 2m5f

Ballynagour (9/2), Hunt Ball (7), Cantlow (10), Colour Squadron (12), Tap Night (12), Toner Doudairies (12), Vino Griego (12), Walkon (12), Carlito Brigante (14), Kapga De Cerisy (14), Sweet My Lord (14), Vulcanite (16), Bless The Wings (20), Divers (20), Domtaline (20), Easter Meteor (20), Glam Gerry (20), Nadiya De La Vega (20), Romanesco (20), Shangani (20) , Theatre Guide (20), White Star Line (20), Ohio Gold (22), Bobowen (25), Drumshambo (25), Hazy Tom (25), Holmwood Legend (25), Lost Glory (25), Poquelin (25), Shoegazer (25), Zaynar (25), 33 Bar

swedish chef: Dutching Vino Griego and Ballynagour on the day if they run

Kauto: I'm told Bally either pisses up or pulls up no in between.

Fist: Hope Hunt Ball wins for the owner nice people deserve winners

Kauto: Zaynar going well at home

Comment From Ardross I think Nadiyya is overpriced pn what she has done this season- an ew chance

edgt: Sweet My Lord hopefully for Colm Murray

treetangle: I can see Ballynagour struggling to get home.

Ardross: Pipe was clear that Ballynagour has been very inconsistent in France

Kauto: Ballynagour never run 2 races alike

Jerry Maguire: Runs in the JLT surely Ardross - big chance there

Kauto: Back him to win

Kauto: Place lay

swedish chef: Gotta go - Good Luck!! everyone

Ardross: Does she ? I thought Alfie Sherrin would be trying for the double in that for JP

betsmate: Thanks SC

TOUT SEUL: I won a bit on VinO G recently but Hunt Ball I want for this cant forget how he cruide throgh last year. If ground OK lump on!

edgt: Divers ew if he gets into race

betsmate: Let's wrap up Thursday then:

Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Handicap Chase (Amateur Riders) Cl2 3m1f110y

Super Duty (5), Cantlow (10), Alfie Sherrin (16), Frisco Depot (16), Lost Glory (16), Merry King (16), No Secrets (16), Prince Of Pirates (16), Romanesco (16), Toner Doudairies (16), Carlito Brigante (20), Chartreux (20), Galaxy Rock (20), Harry The Viking (20), On Trend (20), Problema Tic (20), State Benefit (20), Vesper Bell (20), White Star Line (20), Becauseicouldntsee (25) , Deal Done (25), Johns Spirit (25), Questions Answered (25), Relax (25), Richards Sundance (25), Saint Are (25), Same Difference (25), Swing Bill (25), 33 Bar

Marble: Divers could be Ferdy's first winner since err...

edgt: Glynn's horse ran v well here last year. A likely one

Fist: Ferdy's days of having winners at the Festival have gone bye bye

Fist: Super Duty lay of the meeting

michael_o: Thought Divers wants good to firm. He ain't gonna get that.

Jerry Maguire: Ardross - I'm guessing based on the money laid but I could be wrong

betsmate: Any more thoughts on the Kim Muir or Thursday?

Marble: Its Problematic, Betsmate

Fist: GalaxyRock could go well

betsmate: :)

betsmate: Here we go then

betsmate: Friday

JCB Triumph Hurdle Grade 1 Cl1 2m1f

Our Conor (18/5), Far West (4), Rolling Star (4), Diakali (14), Kashmir Peak (14), Hidden Justice (16), Lac Fontana (16), Blood Cotil (25), Stocktons Wing (25), Swnymor (25), Vasco Du Ronceray (25), Chris Pea Green (33), Ruacana (33), Gassin Golf (50), Sametegal (50), Somemothersdohavem (50), Cape Explorer (66), King Of Dudes (66), Uriah Heep (100), Ibsen (150) , Masters Blazing (200)

JamesRB: i like far west. think rolling star is the danger. our conor is a lay.

Fist: Absolutely no doubt whatsoever Far West wins aminute. this is amchine

handsofstone: it looks between the first 3 in the market, cant split them

Paul: Far west

TOUT SEUL: Far 'in front' West

edgt: Our Conor really classy the last day. If he can repeat that run he takes beating.

JamesRB: i'm sensing myself doing a big bet on far west

JamesRB: could even do him e/w at the price

Fist: Get ready to back Far West the minute he crosses the line for next years champion

JamesRB: i backed river maigue against him at ascot as i thought it would be a nothing pace and he's get outsped but he showed plenty of toe to go along with his staying power shown at cheltenham in earlier races.

Fist: Goolies and the Kicthen sink James

JamesRB: couple that with nicholls saying he works with zarkandar at home. looks a real prospect.

Fist: Gotta go lads thank you very much

betsmate: Thanks Fist

betsmate: So a Far West consensus? What's the consensus for:

Vincent O´Brien County Handicap Hurdle Grade 3 Cl1 2m1f

Cotton Mill (7), Court Minstrel (10), Forgotten Voice (14), Mr Watson (14), Tennis Cap (14), Abbey Lane (16), Swing Bowler (16), Ted Veale (16), Cash And Go (20), Cause Of Causes (20), Ifandbutwhynot (20), Its A Gimme (20), Mr Mole (20), Ranjaan (20), Tanerko Emery (20), Arnaud (25), Barizan (25), Claret Cloak (25), Discoteca (25), Edgardo Sol (25) , Katkeau (25), Kazlian (25), Kings Lad (25), Loch Ard (25), Midnight Game (25), Olofi (25), Ronaldo Des Mottes (25), Shadow Catcher (25), Unique De Cotte (25), 33 Bar

Jerry Maguire: Have a decent bet on Rolling Star @ 16/1. Hoping for a clear round and a chance at the last. Looks seriously classy.

Paul: Cotton Mill for me all the way

JamesRB: i backed forgotten voice e/w after he was really impressive in the dovecote but probably won't get good ground now and might not turn up

handsofstone: mullins thinks abbey lane got good chance

treetangle: If he copes with ground Cotton Mill too good far these - Ifandbutwhynot chance if he gets in and trainer also has chances with Rose Of The Moon in Kim Muir

edgt: Hisabaat ew. Lambe putting up the best 7lb claimer in Ireland to ride him, so I'm told

Marble: What does Jonjo have in this please?

Jerry Maguire: One race I've no angle on. Wait for the day and 5 places.

treetangle: Jonjo has Mr Watson in possibly others

betsmate: Moving on then...

Albert Bartlett Novices´ Hurdle (Registered As The Spa Novices´ Hurdle Race) Grade 1 Cl1 3m

At Fishers Cross (4), Ballycasey (9/2), Pont Alexandre (5), African Gold (9), Utopie Des Bordes (10), Champagne Fever (12), Cloudy Copper (14), Coneygree (14), Gevrey Chambertin (14), Our Vinnie (14), Road To Riches (14), Rule The World (14), Inish Island (16), OFaolains Boy (20), Shutthefrontdoor (25), Sizing Gold (25), Un Atout (25), Le Bec (28), 33 Bar

TOUT SEUL: agree with Jerry

JamesRB: no pont alexandre, champagne fever or coneygree out of that lot

JamesRB: looks a weakish race. think at fishers cross likely winner but might leave alone.

treetangle: Cloudy Copper really nice prospect but needs to step up on bare form. On form Ballycasey should be 16/1 chance.

handsofstone: sizing gold ew

edgt: Road To Riches for Gigginstown

Paul: Need to look a bit further into this one not very much depth

TOUT SEUL: James' list is the first 3 I backed||||

Jerry Maguire: At Fishers Cross could go off short here

betsmate: Next up, the small matter of...

Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase Grade 1 Cl1 3m2f110y

Bobs Worth (3), Sir Des Champs (4), Silviniaco Conti (5), Long Run (6), First Lieutenant (12), Captain Chris (14), Cape Tribulation (16), The Giant Bolster (16), Sunnyhillboy (40), Bog Warrior (50), Monbeg Dude (66), Wayward Prince (66)

Comment From Del boy Just back

Del boy: id fancy inish island to run well at a price

TOUT SEUL: They must think Ballycasey good to not run CF in this.

betsmate: Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase Grade 1 Cl1 3m2f110y

Bobs Worth (3), Sir Des Champs (4), Silviniaco Conti (5), Long Run (6), First Lieutenant (12), Captain Chris (14), Cape Tribulation (16), The Giant Bolster (16), Sunnyhillboy (40), Bog Warrior (50), Monbeg Dude (66), Wayward Prince (66)

edgt: The Giant Bolster ew

treetangle: They must have had a nice few quid on him.

Del boy: i have been in the sir des champs camp from ages ago, not going to change now. I would like it to dry out a bit by Friday in fairness, that would be a major plus

Kauto: Think ground key for this soft and BW wins anything quicker sdc

JamesRB: long run should be second fav. bobs worth worthy fave. conti has been more impressive than anyone in this race this season but no course form. sir des champs a lay for me.

Paul: I really want FL to go in this

treetangle: Slight doubt with ground but winner should come from front two.

Jerry Maguire: Cape Tribulation to run a massive race.

JamesRB: of the outsiders would sooner has cape trib or giant bolster e/w than captain chris

TOUT SEUL: Only one winner- The Greatest Cape wiil power home from the bottom of the hill

Del boy: i think if cape tribulation won this id be disgusted. it would be the worst winner for a long time. I think hes soft.

Marble: Agree James. The bolster needs good ground if memroy serves though.

edgt: What about cheekpieces on Long Run?

TOUT SEUL: They turned round. Hurdle victories show that . Real determination

Del boy: in my opinion long run is one paced, so will get done for toe at some point, and also i think that his jock can put him into the odd fence wrong, and the combination of these are enough to put me off. the cheekpieces wont help

betsmate: Open race according to the poll...

edgt: SWC a daddy today so congrats to him!

Del boy: what you dancy martin?

Marble: Gutsy horse is Long Run I just hope when he hits a fecne hard he doesn't bring Sir Des Champs down with him. I take no pleasure from the fact I think after the KG he is an extreemyl dodgy jumper. His whole record over fences emphiasis this really

Del boy: fancy,,,

betsmate: SDC, just.

Del boy: good man. pray for sun.

Marble: Hoiw many awful jumopers have won the race twice, ?

JamesRB: bobs worth for me. long run to chase him home. long run e/w the bet.

Del boy: is anyone worried about bobs worths lack of runs of late?

edgt: Kauto made the odd howler at a fence, as did Golden Miller and Cottage Rake once or twice

Paul: What price do you think SC would be if he'd won a race at Chelt

edgt: Joint fav surely

Del boy: hed be shorter.

Marble: Fair point Edgt. If any of thesnger horses are on their game they won't allow LOng Run to make mistake and still win it thomo

Marble: younger

Paul: I think its worth a chance he handles the course

betsmate: Without getting all anti-climatic on you...

CGA Foxhunter Chase Challenge Cup Cl2 3m2f110y

Salsify (11/4), Chapoturgeon (5), Cottage Oak (8), Tricky Trickster (10), Backstage (12), Thats Rhythm (16), Dantes Storm (20), Kirkleigh (20), Radetzky March (20), Creevytennant (25), Divine Intavention (25), Doctor Kingsley (25), Hoopy (25), Cloudy Lane (33), Earth Dream (33), Faasel (33), Galant Nuit (33), Oscar Delta (33), Rumbury Grey (33), Coombe Hill (40) , Current Exchange (40), Vic Venturi (40), What A Laugh (40), Boxing Along (50), Merchant Royal (50), Offshore Account (50), Benedictus (66), Whizzaar (66), Keenans Future (100), Louis Pasteur (100), Rainbow Tree (100), Rathcor (100), Up There (150), Metal Detector (200)

TOUT SEUL: Thats why my money is not on SC.otherwise

Paul: Would love Chapoturgen to win

edgt: It surely is. Fascinating in that all the fancied horses are no way exhibitionist but very good at the same time in GC.

Del boy: salsify is a good think. Backstage is short of fitness according to elliot

treetangle: Salsify class horse - hopefully can get away with the ground. Shame about non appearance of Tammy's Hill - connections messed up badly.

Del boy: thing

edgt: Oscar Delta a huge price given he was twice placed in this race.

Marble: Enjoyed this, thanks. Laters everyone..

betsmate: Thanks Marble

betsmate: Anyone any ideas about:

Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys´ Handicap Hurdle Cl2 2m4f110y

Gevrey Chambertin (5), Bonisland (11), Abbey Lane (12), Thunderstorm (12), Edeymi (14), Inish Island (14), Katkeau (14), Salubrious (14), Tanerko Emery (14), Tennis Cap (14), Ballynagour (16), Edmund Kean (16), Ericht (16), First Avenue (16), Pendra (16), Toner Doudairies (16), Discoteca (18), Black Thunder (20), Bondage (20), Buck Magic (20) , Caid du Berlais (20), Fahamore (20), Gods Own (20), Ma Filleule (20), Make Your Mark (20), Meister Eckhart (20), Sidney Melbourne (20), Ted Veale (20), Tominator (20), Top of The Range (20), Unique de Cotte (20), Village Vic (20), Whisper (20), 25 Bar

edgt: Cheers Marble

JamesRB: i'm on gevrey chambertin at 8/1, and feel reasonably confident!

Del boy: toner doudaries wont get in as hes too well handicapped. if he did id lump on. gevrey chambertin should go close

treetangle: Gevrey Chambertin promising but plenty short enough now on actual achievement

edgt: If M Enright gets a ride for a big GB stable he is worth following imo. Ditto J S McGervey

Jerry Maguire: Took 10/1 GC Antepost a few days ago. Massive chance.

betsmate: And so it has all come down to this, the couldn't-pick-a-loser-if-I-tried race or the mother of all get-out-of-jail stakes:

Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Chase Challenge Cup (Handicap) Grade 3 Cl1 2m110y

Alderwood (6), Ulck Du Lin (9), Kid Cassidy (10), Rody (10), Anquetta (14), Viva Colonia (14), Kapga De Cerisy (16), Savello (16), Shooters Wood (16), Tanks For That (16), Desert Cry (20), Majala (20), Petit Robin (20), Shangani (20), Tetlami (20), Eastlake (22), His Excellency (22), Baily Green (25), Drumshambo (25), French Opera (25) , Green Belt Elite (25), Kumbeshwar (25), Marshal Zhukov (25), Oiseau de Nuit (25), 33 Bar

trudij: Anquetta I reckon - underrated

edgt: If Nicky puts up P Carberry look no further.Just like last year...

Del boy: no idea.

Jerry Maguire: Kid Cassidy!!

TOUT SEUL: Too many to evaluate!

treetangle: Petit Robin

betsmate: Any more thoughts on this, or anything else on Day 4, before we move on to the specials?

betsmate: Please remember to vote in all of the live polls

betsmate: Specials

betsmate: let's start with an easy one... top jockey

betsmate: Barry Geraghty 11/8
Ruby Walsh 13/7
Tony McCoy 7
Davy Russell 16
Jason Maguire 25

trudij: BG

edgt: Davy Russell value

Del boy: Id be in the ruby camp only for the fact that mullins likes to give the other lads who ride for him winners.

Paul: Agree DR the value

trudij: think i have BG and DR on some fantasy comp

treetangle: Barry Geraghty most reliable.

betsmate: What are Davy's bankers?

JamesRB: boring but think geraghty or walsh win it.

TOUT SEUL: BG

edgt: Sounds interesting trudi!

treetangle: Russell has picked up a useful ride in Argocat in the Jewson

trudij: behave edgt :P think its a telegraph fantasy stable type of thing

betsmate: What about Trainers then?

betsmate: Top Trainer

Henderson 4/6
Mullins 7/4
Nicholls 9/1
Any Other Trainer 20/1

Del boy: Mullins.

Jerry Maguire: 66/1 JJ O'Neill

trudij: Id say Mullins as well

Paul: Again it would only take a few Nicholls runners to win from just off favouritism and 9/1 is big

TOUT SEUL: Mulins ha the overall ammo

betsmate: To be the top trainer, don't you have to be a top trainer?

edgt: Mullins though with the going a small number of winners could decide it

Jerry Maguire: No downside to taking 66/1. He's probably a 25/1 shot.

betsmate: What other specials have caught your eyes then?

betsmate: John McCririck to streak in protest during live coverage - 33/1 with Paddy?

Jerry Maguire: Plus it's a good hedge if your up to your tits AP on Hendo/Mullins horses ;)

Del boy: over 9 irish winners at 11/10or 6/5, csnt remember. tempted to have the lot on that and sit back but i know i wouldnt have the discipline to leave it at that

Jerry Maguire: I've got two that look complete ricks: Top Trainer W/O the big 3 JJ O'Neill 6/1 (888.com Bluesquare) Biggest Winning Distance Race The Arkle e/w @ 7/1 (Bet365)

betsmate: 63% of the Talking Horses collective reckon 8 or under Del Boy.

edgt: Interesting Jerry

betsmate: Biggest Winning Distance Race The Arkle e/w @ 7/1 (Bet365) - that could be interesting.

Del boy: 63% of the forum are wrong....

Jerry Maguire: It's a 7/2 shot. If anything happens to Overturn he'll lap the rest.

Del boy: could well be betsmate. especially given the pace they will go, should one of the principals blunder the other could hose in.

Del boy: what price the foxhunters?

Jerry Maguire: Being allowed to do it e/w is astonishing.

edgt: Would not be the first time Del. About 63% thought overturn would not make a chaser

betsmate: Anyone got the figures for lat year's Guinness sales? No paddy's day in the festival four days this year.

Del boy: do they not just make that up?

Jerry Maguire: UNDERS

TOUT SEUL: So I'v heard, Jerry

Del boy: id cover most of the spread myself

edgt: They make their own Paddys Day Thursday

betsmate: I'm not there. I'm going unders.

Jerry Maguire: TS - LOL

Del boy: question lads, i done a bet with powers, as follows on their 11 days to go. "Dynaste and Pont Alexandre both to win @ 11/1"

Del boy: doesnt say what race dynaste is running in on it....

Del boy: so i presume it still stands

treetangle: I would check before they run?

Jerry Maguire: Will be settled at SP on PA or perhaps the price PA Was at the time whichever is bigger

edgt: It does unless they both win in which case they will check the small print

Del boy: yeah, id imagine thats more like it edgt

betsmate: You'll be alright with PP.

TOUT SEUL: Spot on! edgt

betsmate: Ok then, any more for any more or shall I wrap it up?

Del boy: MOOOOORRREEEE

treetangle: Are we doing best bets of the week?

TOUT SEUL: Well Done Betsmate!

Del boy: wrap it up, i missed the start and want to read the transcript to see how wrong ye are all on the supreme. jezkis a good thing

edgt: Many thanks to all. Most enjoyable.

betsmate: There is a long week ahead of you Del, don't pull too hard now?

betsmate: Go on then, quick one. Best bet of the week:

Del boy: yeah, naps, have been harping on all winter that jezki and sir des champs were the bets. not changing now.

treetangle: Two Rockers

bigfow: the new one

Jerry Maguire: Anything else lads? I'm a minefield of festival punting information?!

JamesRB: best bet for me either far west or simonsig if you can get anything near evens

treetangle: Lay: River Maigue & Champagne Fever

Comment From NewApproach The Giant Bolster

JamesRB: looking at betfair i doubt river maigue even turns up treetangle

TOUT SEUL: ChampagneFever Hexham and the Cape

JamesRB: lay of week. sir des champs for me.

Jerry Maguire: NAP is dutching Bailey Green and Beneficent w/o Simonsig e/w

treetangle: Even bigger lay on Champagne Fever then

Paul: Back in Focus in the NH chase

betsmate: Night all and thanks. Back to the forum...

bigfow: thanks

NewApproach: Melodic Rendezvous, Overturn, Grandouet on the Tuesday

Del boy: thanks betsmate

treetangle: Thanks and good luck

Paul: cheers

NewApproach: Good luck to everyone
