betsmate: Ok let's make a start... others can join in as and when
First race: 13:30 williamhill.com Supreme Novices' Hurdle (Grade 1) (2m 110y)
Steve T: High winds?! oh no....
betsmate: Can anything beat Cousin Vinny?
firstpastthepost: not as strong as last years dont worry steve
nope irish banker
Galileo1 has left.
firstpastthepost: ground has come perfect for him
betsmate: I've backed him. Looks the clear pick.
Harry: Red Moloney value
Irish Stamp: Torpichen
gabber159 has joined.
firstpastthepost: ground gone against him harry?
grangerpj: His winning bumper form has to be a key advantage
Galileo1 has joined.
betsmate: 14/1 Red Maloney still at Hills
Galileo1: woops knocked myself out there
Steve T: I think he'll be punted (CV) to shorter odds than now, good Paddy Power offer too
Harry: No one really knows the ground yet do they?
Irish Stamp: they left a lot to work on at Sandown last time out apparently - the last time Pipe's ran a 4yo in this we all know what happened
gabber593 has joined.
gabber593: evening all
gabber593 is now Trackside
Irish Stamp: evening
Petey
Trackside: have we kicked off yet?
betsmate: Evening trackside, just started on the Supreme
Galileo1: Ok so which ones will handle the ground in the first assuming there is plenty of cut in it
Irish Stamp: just
Galileo1: or should I say which ones wont handle it
Irish Stamp: the front two at least Gal
Go Native too
grangerpj: Go native will handle soft going
firstpastthepost: wasnt go native the one ruby walsh said wont get up the hill ? or was that somthing else?
Trackside: Soft ground would be a big plus for Torphicen surely
Galileo1: i cannot have go native
Trackside: I can't see Go Native winning myself
Irish Stamp: they'd handle it
Galileo1: I cannot for the life of me see why they have punted him
Irish Stamp: i considered backign Go Native at 20's but not at the current price, think it reflects more howo he travelled in December than his last run
gabber544 has joined.
Galileo1: its not as if he was hugely impressive at naas
Trackside: The world and its granny seems to be tipping Micheal Flips E/W!
Irish Stamp: a 3m point to point horse in a 2m championship race? er yep i can see that
Trackside: no and the two behind would need further ideally
didn't look short of pace at Kempton in fairness, IS
Steve T: Shoreacres at a huge price, behind CV in the bumper last year
Trackside: I've backed Copper Bleu E/W in the race at fancy prices. My only bet.
grangerpj: kempes will handle ground with cut in it. ruby factor should see him punted to a degree
Galileo1: Anyone give Kangaroo Court a chance? think the drop back to 2 miles should suit
Irish Stamp: no he's not - but then there'll have been plenty other pointers who look similar vs. sub standard opposition
firstpastthepost: MDH has dropped in price?
any chance they switch Cv and him?
Irish Stamp: he was well backed last time out Gal
Trackside: Interesting alright Gal.
Irish Stamp: would give the form of a few horses later in the week a big boost
i doubt it FPP - wouldn't be toally surprised if they did mind
betsmate: Ok guys, going to keep this moving - so can I have your selections for the supreme:
Galileo1: MHD definitely runs in the longer race surely.
betsmate: Me - Cousin Vinny
Wall E: Surely if Michael fLIPS had any chance Ainama wouldnt run
Irish Stamp: Torpichen(EW)
firstpastthepost: Cousin Vinny
Trackside: Copper Bleu E/W
Wall E: Cousin Vinny
Harry: Red moloney
Galileo1: Cousin Vinny and Kangaroo Court to run well for a place
Steve T: Cousin Vinny wins, Shoreacres e/w for a free bet with PP!
betsmate: Thanks
grangerpj: Wouldn't be supporting KC gal. one or two will have too much toe for him
betsmate: Next up: 14:05 Irish Independent Arkle Challenge Trophy Chase (Grade 1) (2m)
Harry: good point
Trackside: Weak renewal - hard to see any superstars
Harry: free bet good idea
Irish Stamp: can't have the favourite in thi
betsmate: I can't have Calgary Bay
Galileo1: i think he will relish the step back in trip granger
Trackside: I don't like Calgary Bay's attitude at all personally
Wall E: Follow the plan. good ground key. jumps and travels well
firstpastthepost: cant have the front two in the market
Galileo1: Tatenens chances are improving with the ground
Irish Stamp: I don't like Cb's wins/runs ratio nor his form
firstpastthepost: Wall E i can see it be soft to be honest
betsmate: One win in seven and trained by Hen Knight. Not with stolen money
Harry: planet of sound and Kalahari King for me against the favs
Irish Stamp: Original - those races over the river won't have suited him one bit, a big galloping horse, huge strides, surely the 2m at Cheltenham up and downhill will help him out no end?
firstpastthepost: forpadydeplasterer for me
grangerpj: Golden silver has my money. ground coming his way, yard in form, already has beaten FPTP
Galileo1: i like him as well irish stamp
Wall E: soft at chelt, differnet to heavy in ire
betsmate: 2nd FPTP!
Trackside: I've now resigned myself to the fact that my Kalahari King bet is doomed.
firstpastthepost: can see the 10-1 going
Irish Stamp: just think we should take his British form ottally seperate to waht he did in France - he'll love racing over her
Galileo1: i like FPTP but I could not back him at 10s with Golden Silver is nearly double the price
Irish Stamp: might get bigger on the day Gal - you know how we like a "home" win so to speak
Steve T: Kalahari King has been given a strong word for some time on the BBC Racing forum, some connections to the stable there
Trackside: What about that Original, IS?
grangerpj: i honestly dont see CB place
Harry: coz i fancy it?
Galileo1: Kalahari King wants it good though doesnt he?
Wall E: where is the form of CB entitles him to win this
betsmate: Follow the Plan if the wind keeps up.
Trackside: Yes
betsmate: 20/1 and two races ago he was beating the favourite.
firstpastthepost: is a wide open race all ifs and buts
grangerpj: winner must stay. id like to be on either FTP or Golden Silver
Irish Stamp: definitely a fancy TS - no worthwhile form iN Frace but very impresive the other day, huge strides, will stay further than 2m in time and Frenchbreds have a good record in this
Galileo1: i am not backing it, but worth mentioning the O'Grady runner in this Bringbackthebiff....absolutely tons to find in the race but is well regarded and its interesting he is coming over
Wall E: thought jewson would be his race
betsmate: Other than Trackside, has anyone got any money down?
grangerpj: tranquil sea runs in jewson i think
Irish Stamp: Original at 20's
Galileo1: no....race to bet on the day me thinks
Wall E: FTP
grangerpj: yep ive 50 down @ 66's on golden silver
betsmate: Ok, one selection each then please:
Trackside: Tranquil Sea has been so dissapointing this season...
betsmate: me - Follow The Plan
firstpastthepost: for paddy
Irish Stamp: Original (EW)
Galileo1: cannot have FTP....leopardstown race was a funny one and he has nothing in the book before or after to suggest he is a grade 1 horse.
Harry: Planet Of Sound
Trackside: No opinion
Steve T: KK
grangerpj: irish arkle was not FTP'S ground
gabber632 has joined.
Galileo1: I was cool on the favourite for a long long time, but warming to him by default. think the irish arkle form will hold up well though
betsmate: Ok on to Tuesday's feature:
gabber632: hello
betsmate: 15:20 Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy (2m 110y)
Trackside: If Mullins has Made in Taipan back to his best, he should finish in front of Follow The Plan
gabber632: hello
firstpastthepost: lay binny
betsmate: Rain, rain, rain for Inca
gabber632 is now artic k
Irish Stamp: Quevega
oh the other feature
betsmate: :) IS
grangerpj: very much a ground dependant race
Trackside: Ground has gone for Harchibald
Galileo1: Hi artic
artic k: day1 is it
Galileo1: Binocular has to be taken on....lads forget about Harchibald now
artic k: i'm at cheltenham
it' been raining on and off
Trackside: I fancy Brave Inca E/W
Don't make me cry, Gal....
Irish Stamp: at the risk of sounding like a broken record i've backed Othermix - he was favourite for the Hurricane Fly/Quevega race in June last year and was only 5th, he's unraced since but form prior to that was top notch, i've invested too so am a bit biased
betsmate: I'm on Brave Inca each way
Steve T has left.
Irish Stamp: but any rain will definitely help - 100/1 is a total insult
grangerpj: ground against sublimity as well
artic k: anyone fancy sentry duty?
Harry: me
and punjabi
artic k: remember the 5year olds folks
just cos 1 won last year
Trackside: Sublimity won't get home on soft.
Galileo1: I can see why you could fancy sentry duty...but it will be a poor Champion if he won it.
artic k: doesnt mean its forgotten
Trackside: What about the Pipe horses?
Galileo1: Sublimity is out of the equation now as well
Harry: Ashkazar
Trackside: Does Sentry Duty not need good ground?
grangerpj: no cant have him Harry
Wall E: the ground is not gone yet.
artic k: ascot was soft
going to rain tomorrow night
just depends how good it is now
Trackside: Cheers artic
Harry: Cheltenham hasnt had a proper soft festival since the drains were done years ago
Trackside: keep us posted please!
betsmate: What price will Binocular start?
artic k: last year was a soft festival
gabber159: ,
artic k: check the times - same as 95
Irish Stamp: it'll be given as "good to soft" regardless - whenwe see the supreme and the turf kicked up we'll know for sure
Galileo1: the forecast Cheltenham gave is reportidly very kind according to the Racing Post to what is being actually forecast
Wall E: if you get 40-50mph winds the rain might not make much difference
Irish Stamp: lol
Harry: On RP tonight King and Henderson think its perfect Today
Irish Stamp: just ask Barry Geraghty Wall E
Trackside: When is the rain expected?
artic k: tomorrow night
firstpastthepost: and they said it wont take much to change the going to
grangerpj: mon night
Harry: on me at taunton 2moz
artic k: been spitting a bit tonight
and im beside the course
Galileo1: The forecasters are predicting 15-20mm...soft ground guaranteed if thats the case...wind or no wind
betsmate: Or should I say, will he shorten (as the only class horse in the field with age on his side) or will others be backed against him in the ground?
Galileo1: where as Cheltenham are talking about 7-8mm
grangerpj: others backed against him
artic k: anyone know about sizing europe?
grangerpj: BI will get money on the day
Galileo1: binocular will drift a bit
Steve T: they were fairly confident of heavy rain tomorrow night day or two ago
Drfiter for me
betsmate: I think so too.
Trackside: Muirhead won't mind the ground.
gabber159: how come it never fucking rained like this when i backed Dorans Pride every year
betsmate: I've got him in a multiples, but doubt I'll hold any AP value come the off.
Harry: lol
grangerpj: cant have SE again until he proves he is right
gabber74 has joined.
Irish Stamp: expect there'll be some good ofers - probs 2/1 about Bnocular on Tuesday
grangerpj: carberry might yet have to ride muirhead
Galileo1: Binocular out to 13/8 now in places
gabber74 is now relkeel
Harry: Think Osana will get swallowed up?
betsmate: Hi relkeel
Trackside: Hi Relkeel
Steve T: Huge field
firstpastthepost: they holding osana up arnt they?
relkeel: Evening. Sorry I'm late.
betsmate: I think I've got 9/4 about Binocular AP
Galileo1: i like osana out of those at the head of the market
grangerpj: who are the likely pace setters? osana and CH
betsmate: No worries, just wrapping up the Champion Hurdle
Irish Stamp: welcome aboard Relks
Trackside: Hardy Eustace will be up there
Irish Stamp: Jered?
Galileo1: how sad to see hardy at 100/1
betsmate: Ok one selection each please (or two if you want to account for the ground):
Irish Stamp: might as well tank on the bridle all the way hehe
Galileo1: jered will struggle in this ground
betsmate: Me - Brave Inca
Trackside: will be held up
Steve T: Brave inca, solid place, not sure one wont do him though
Wall E: punjabi
Galileo1: osana for me, but think brave inca and muirhead will run big races
Trackside: not been impressed by jered at all the last few weeks
gabber159 has left.
artic k: sizing europe and sentry duty ew
betsmate: Ok thanks
Trackside: Brave Inca E/W
betsmate: 5 minutes to talk about:
grangerpj: If any actual good in the ground - sublimity. if not brave inca e/w
betsmate: 14:40 William Hill Trophy Handicap Chase (Grade 3) (3m 110y) 16:00 Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase (3m 7f) 16:40 David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle (Grade 2) (2m 4f)
Irish Stamp: Me- Othermix (EW)
firstpastthepost has left.
betsmate: Any strong fancies
artic k: no
Galileo1: sizing europe is the sly in the ointment isnt he?
artic k: sly
Irish Stamp: get the imperssion that De Bromhead has his head in teh sand on that one Gal
Galileo1: disappointing horse but you'd still be keeping an eye on him
grangerpj: he is Gal. love the horse but cant have him
Irish Stamp: won't say what the problem was and keeps saying the horse is fine
artic k: apparently he bled
not a back prob
gabber260 has joined.
betsmate: Wichita is never going to be the horse that I hoped...
Irish Stamp: won't be able to stop that in 6 weeks will they?
Trackside: Talk about what, Betsmate?
The Guineas?
Galileo1: yeah I wouldnt back him...but whoever i backed he will still be one that i'd be watching out for
betsmate: 14:40 William Hill Trophy Handicap Chase (Grade 3) (3m 110y)
16:00 Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase (3m 7f)
artic k: have a saver just in case
gabber260 has logged in as Euronymous.
betsmate: 16:40 David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle (Grade 2) (2m 4f)
grangerpj: he will travel well. its a matter of when shit hits shovel whether he continues or stops
Galileo1: right what are we on now?
betsmate: :)
Harry: Won In The Dark?
Trackside: Haven't a clue
artic k: well he can get up the hill - ask osana
Irish Stamp: Speed?
Trackside: Get Colm Murray in here to sort this out...
grangerpj: ground against WITD
artic k: davy likes won
betsmate: can we leave the champion now guys, can pick up again at 10.30
Irish Stamp: lol
Galileo1: won in the dark wont handle the ground
Trackside: Ground against Won In The Dark, Harry
betsmate: Quevaga IS?
artic k: cousin vinny - rider a worry?
Irish Stamp: oo brilliant - her race up now?
betsmate: twice already!!!!
Trackside: I've backed Oscar Rebel e/w in the mares race FWIW
Irish Stamp: lol
Harry: keep to the rota
Galileo1: think the ground is a massive bonus to quevega
Irish Stamp: we missed 2 races out right?
betsmate: thanks Harry!
relkeel: United is my best bet of the week FWIW
artic k: whats the race
betsmate: ffs
Harry: im losing it here
betsmate: 14:40 William Hill Trophy Handicap Chase (Grade 3) (3m 110y) 16:00 Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase (3m 7f) 16:40 David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle (Grade 2) (2m 4f)
artic k: what about jessies
betsmate: grouped together
Irish Stamp: Quevega is my second biggest winner of the week (provided Othermix gets beat)
can't see her going down at all
if it were the WH Chase id look for a chasermind
Galileo1: right so the William Hill, Cross Country and Mares race....fancies?
Harry: what race are we on?
Irish Stamp: is Henderson lining up a special with Golden Flight in the WH Chase?
Wall E has left.
grangerpj: winner will be trained in ireland
Galileo1: harry we are talking about the three remaining races altogether
Steve T: L'ami, but not at the price
gabber577 has joined.
Irish Stamp: front two in a reverse forecast
Galileo1: L'Ami I think is probably the banker of the whole meeting
Harry: ta
Trackside: How many will Bolger run?
artic k: i dont like lami at all
Harry: according to john W Hill
grangerpj: winner is one of bolgers. just can't tell which one
betsmate: Going to wrap Tuesday up now guys... time is tight... any final selections?
Galileo1: lami for sure
artic k: michael flips
grangerpj: whichever nina is onboard
Harry: Need A shorthand typist 4 nxt year
Irish Stamp: Golden Flight, Quevega, GC/Lami reverse
Trackside: lol Harry
gabber577 has left.
artic k: quevega for willie

betsmate: Ok thanks... on to Wednesday
14:05 Ballymore Properties Novices' Hurdle (2m 5f)
interesting race
Galileo1: no idea about the william hill, quevega in the mares and lami in the cross country. I think Jessies mare in the mares race is good value though
artic k: best race of the meeting
grangerpj: Diamond Harry a lay for me
Harry: If Willie has a shit one there will be some fucked up skint people here
Irish Stamp: Mikael in this one (count me in that category Harry)
artic k: mad max ew
Harry: Massive bet 4 me The Nightingale
betsmate: Two weeks ago I wouldn't have touched Diamond Harry, now I'm struggling to make a case for anything else. At least the ground is coming back to Mikhael
grangerpj: Karabak is a good thing
Galileo1: this is a heck of a race
Trackside: Mikael D'Haguenet could be a star but I've expressed my doubts about this particular elsewhere
artic k: it usually is
Trackside: particular race*
Galileo1: much stronger than the supreme
the ground should make sure the Mikael has no excuses....not worried about the track on the likely easy ground
grangerpj: DH jumps too much to the left. wont get same space in ballymore
artic k: dont like karabak
mad max is the value
Irish Stamp: MD definitely a chaser in ht emaking - still a novice too for next season which will be good
Trackside: Heard an awful lot of unkind things said about Diamond Harry's condition before his last race.
relkeel: re: Diamond Harry. I read in the RP today that some of the pundits at a preview said something like; "the cracks are begining to appear". I don't understand what they mean. I think he sets the standard and has done it over c&d, so should be favou
Irish Stamp: According To Dick a big price IMO - 33's, will be staying on up the hill and we know he'll get up it
Galileo1: karabak is admirable but think he will come up short...I think mad max is interesting for sure
Trackside: Didn't see him myself but what did anyone else make of him.
Irish Stamp: think the unkind things were in relation to how he'll come out of tha trace and in to this one Trackside
artic k: diamond harry will shape a lot better - i wouldnt lay him
Irish Stamp: ie. he'd peaked in Jan
grangerpj: he was interfered with at 2nd last before xmas and still powered up hill. whoever beats karabak wins imo
betsmate: It's a busy day Wednesday so make your points quickly. Anyone going to nail their colours to the mast and give a selection?
me - Diamond Harry
grangerpj: karabak
artic k: sit back and enjoy it - mad max ew
Galileo1: too hard a race, though Mad Max will probably be the value
Euronymous: no bet on wed
Irish Stamp: not nailed as such but Mikael one for the future
Harry: whers Shadow?
Trackside: No bet race
betsmate: ok cheers guys
Next up: 14:40 RSA Chase (3m 110y)
artic k: outsider could win this
betsmate: you got anything for this Gal?
Galileo1: no strong fanices for this...
betsmate: :)
Harry: Killyglen Casey Jones
Irish Stamp: Lodge Lane eac way here - can't see why after jut the one poor run he's four times the price of a horse he's beaten before (albeit over hurdles)
Trackside: Gal was that you who laid Cooldine?
Galileo1: :)
relkeel: What A Friend for me.
grangerpj: not a vintage renewal. cooldine best of this lot
Trackside: I've backed Casey Jones E/W in this
ground would be a worry but he has solid form and going really well recently
betsmate: I backed Cooldine, at least in part because of Galileo's confidence.
Harry: Prices will be all over the shop if Willie draws a blank after day1
Trackside: Can't have What A Friend in a big field with that head carriage. Don't rate the Cheltenham form either.
Galileo1: Love the horse, made for the race has been aimed at this all year....has really flourish since his last run (no surprise when you look at how he improved with racing last year)...tough and classy (stayers hurdle form at Punchestown), will relish any
ease as well.
grangerpj: ran at 2miles over xmas so that he could jump at speed. laid out for race.ruby on board. i think so
artic k: gone to lunch ew
Galileo1: jumping on a whole is a positive for him, but I would be worried that he could make a howler
Trackside: Stats point strongly against 5 and 6yo's in the race
Galileo1: i've backed him since he made his chasing debut and I love the campaign mullins has given him.
artic k: cooldine didnt work very well at leop
Harry: If Warbler posts the chat room will block up and explode!!!
betsmate: Can anyone make as passionate case for anything else?
Galileo1: Cooldine worked fine at Leopardstown against two milers.
artic k: gone to lunch - my coy knows him now
Trackside: Cooldine is solid no doubt.
artic k: dont like his jumping
Irish Stamp: lodge lane each way still my bet lol
betsmate: Selections:
anyone else?
Galileo1: jumped great apart from the last...and that is what I was referring to. Has loads of scope over his fences but needs to concentrate
betsmate: ok shall we quickly do the: 15:20 Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase (2m)
Trackside: Casey Jones E/W
relkeel has left.
grangerpj: Cooldine and we have hope of a good irish chaser again :)
Harry: Well Chief
betsmate: It would be great Harry, but I can't see it
relkeel has joined.
artic k: master minded should win this
grangerpj: spectaor race. hope WC runs his race
artic k: lol
Galileo1: Master Minded in a hack canter
will be cheering on Well Chief though
Harry: so will I
Irish Stamp: Master Minded
Trackside: Hope Well Chief goes well.
Harry: No interst in any other horses apart from WC and |MM
relkeel: I thought Ashley Brook at 50/1 w/o MM was a bit too big (although it would take a massive leap of faith).
betsmate: I looked at that Relkeel, but he must be gone now?
grangerpj: piss poor renewal. nothing from this years arkle will improve it next year id guess too
Irish Stamp: be good if Mahogany Blaze can place
relkeel: He probably has gone, but he does like Cheltenham.
betsmate: Ok, will anyone be having any money against the favourite? One selection please:
Euronymous: tiday bay should be in this
Irish Stamp: Master Minded a class above these - can put a number of previous champions in this and they'd all be blown away
grangerpj: no bet
relkeel: I will be delighted with 4th for Mahogany.
Irish Stamp: just because nothing can get near MM it doesn't mean its a poor renewal
Harry: Exactly
Euronymous: i is though
Galileo1: MM to win...but come on Well Chief!!!!!
Harry: And Man U to go out
Euronymous: feck off
Trackside: Has to be Master Minded but no bet race for me.
betsmate: Right, let's not dwell
Harry: LOL
betsmate: Next up: 17:15 Weatherbys Champion Bumper (2m 110y)
Something Irish?
Euronymous: omg
artic k: dunguib
Trackside: Jaysus we're fairly tanking along!
Harry: Best race of the week
betsmate: we're just, just on schedule for a 2 hour finish
Trackside: goes without saying Harry!
Harry: Dunguib massive
grangerpj: meath all star. been tucked away all winter.
Trackside: Lots of talk about Rite of Passage recently
Euronymous: it`ll take half an hour to discuss denman
Galileo1: I think Patrick is on the wrong Mullins horse...think Quinola De and in particular Quel Esprit will run massive races.
Irish Stamp: Oat Granola Des Obeaux for mee - been very impressed with him in his two runs, slight concern about the bi field but the form took a boost yday at Sandown and think Paddy Mullins is effectively guessing at which horse to ride
Galileo1: Rite Of Passage...not for me
Irish Stamp: beat you Gal lol
betsmate: We've got 8 minutes on my plan Euro!
artic k: paddy is clear on sicilian
relkeel: We (Blue Sq) keep laying Rite Of Passage but I don't really understand how anyone could fancy anything for this. It's all just about hype isn't it?
Harry: Shinrock Paddy Laid out Rite of passage 9/2 gambled todey
Trackside: why not Gal?
Harry: Dunguib
Euronymous: 8 minutes. can we cut some of the dross out then
Trackside: I'd love to see Barry Connell win it...
artic k: willie wont win it
Harry: I Know
betsmate: nope, we'll come back to it at 10.30.
Galileo1: One thing I would say about Sicilian Secret, he was carrying lots more weight than the others in that gallop that day
betsmate: Would you lay that artick k
artic k: yes
dunguib is a machine
betsmate: not for me I mean, just in genereal
Galileo1: but softish ground goes against him
Euronymous: have you seen clockwise Bets?
Trackside: he was indeed, Gal
artic k: i also like henry king
gabber722 has joined.
betsmate: nope, but I just read the synopsis. No disasters on my watch :)
Trackside: Meath All Star is a bit of a forgotten horse.
Irish Stamp: no bias eh trackside? lol
Harry: Nolans horse is class
Trackside: will be the only thing we win for a while...
Galileo1: whats the best of the brits in the bumper?
artic k: henry k
Euronymous: lol
Irish Stamp: lol
Harry: And he won at sandown remember saturday?
Irish Stamp: whichever one turns up gal
Euronymous: the one that finishes 7th
grangerpj: ill bare my arse in burtons window if the brits win this one
Galileo1: ground is going to be important for the bumper too...if it does come up soft the french bred mullins horses will relish the test
Irish Stamp: me too if i can find a Burton's
artic k: anyone have a view on swans
Euronymous: top shop he meant
Galileo1: imagine quinola will be an easy enough ride for patrick just make it a serious test
Trackside: lol
Euronymous: swans - excellent band. like a mellower version of neurosis
artic k: patrick rides sicilian
gabber722: I think Welds might stymie the Mullins massif.
Irish Stamp: Morning Supreme out to 33's - considering the rumours surrounding that Downpatrick race that's a surprise
Trackside: thought patrick rode sicilian secret
Irish Stamp: hosed up that day too
Euronymous: any flat jockeys riding in the bumper?
Irish Stamp: get Ruby on Quinola
Paddy Mullins Euro
Euronymous: i mean proper ones
Trackside: Smullen
relkeel: Pat Smullen, I think
grangerpj: weld has smullen
Steve T: Richard Hughes has a flat licence...
gabber722: Smullen on Rite of Passage
Trackside: Heffernan is on Leavy's horse
Galileo1 has left.
Trackside: Is Spencer riding in this?
Euronymous: weld`s horse it is then
Galileo1 has left.
betsmate: Ok I know it is stab in the dark stuff, but one selection each please:
Euronymous: feck
gabber722 is now Icebreaker
betsmate: me - no bet (unless Nina's is a big price for a fun stake)
artic k: dunguib
Harry: No its not
Dunguib
grangerpj: meath all star
Trackside: no ride yet for nina
relkeel: test
Trackside: shocking
Euronymous: no bet
Icebreaker: Rite Of Passage for me.
Harry: Value gone
Galileo1 has joined.
betsmate: Ok five minutes to cover the next three races
13:30 139th Year Of National Hunt Chase Challenge Cup (4m) 16:00 Coral Cup (4yo+, Class 1, 2m 5f, 90 runners) 16:40 Fred Winter Juvenile Novices' Handicap Hurdle (2m 110y)
Harry: Talked up too much

Irish Stamp: Merchent Paddy of definite interest in the 4 miler - seems to stay all day and gallops on and on and on
Harry: no
Miss Sarenne in that
Icebreaker: Is Lough Derg lumbered with too much weight?
Irish Stamp: Ronaldo Des MOttes - wasn't knocked about the other day and will have come on for the run
Trackside: heard the polomoche worked nicely at kempton
Galileo1: I would not trust Alexander Sev as far as I would throw him (even though he has won me money in the past)...Flag Of Honour is far too big
grangerpj: physcho coral cup
betsmate: I want to back Alexander Severus in the Fred Winter, but I'm not sure I really have grounds to do so.

Harry: Nineteenth minute coral also
Ski sunday also fred winter

Irish Stamp: NH Chase - Merchent Paddy
grangerpj: FW should be on C4
Galileo1: RUK ice
Trackside: Parson's Pistol would like it soft
betsmate: Lough Derg 16/1 thru 25/1 I don't think they can make up their minds Icebreaker
Icebreaker: Good. Thanks Gal.
Time delay buggers ya if it is on Ch4 for the oulod in-running.

14:40 Ryanair Chase (Grade 1) (2m 5f)
I'm backing VPU for the first time ever
Icebreaker: Voy Por has to be?
artic k: imprerial
grangerpj: VPU classiest horse in race
Trackside: voy por was hugely impressive the last day.... not beating much.
Harry: Our Vic confidence 0/10
Icebreaker: Can't see beyond it.
Galileo1 has joined.
Harry: Imperial is dangerous though
Icebreaker: Like Our Vic for the Place, tho
grangerpj: has chelt form in the bag
Kasbah Blister is now Kasbah Blisters
Kasbah Blisters has joined.
grangerpj: not an odds on bet but id take 11/10
Irish Stamp: heya KB
Kasbah Blisters: evening irish
Harry: never back at festival those odds...just cant
Kasbah Blisters: Have we established yet that the French stayer is nought but a Flat poof?
Galileo1 has left.
betsmate: two minutes till the world hurdle discussion KB
Kasbah Blisters: what is current discussion?
Harry: keep to the rotaFFS im slow
betsmate: Selections for the Ryanair
Euronymous: how far vpu wins the ryanair by
grangerpj: vpu 3 lengths
Kasbah Blisters: VOU - reluctantly, with a sentimental saver on OV
betsmate: 10+ lengths
artic k: imperial will win
Euronymous: yessss
Harry: Imperial intersting
Euronymous: no
imperial - handicapper
Kasbah Blisters: Couldnt have IC - yard not out the woods yet, and too much to find anyway
Harry: course form
Euronymous: arcalis had course form
Kasbah Blisters: VPU and OV both have vastly better course form
Harry: Brennan thinks he will win
Trackside: Last year's race doesn't look anywhere near as good.
Euronymous: and?
Kasbah Blisters: whats good about this years??
artic k has left.
Euronymous: vpu
Kasbah Blisters: VPU no better than OV over this trip
Trackside: Looks a much better renewal surely, KB.
Kasbah Blisters: why?
It's Grass btw
Euronymous: a pound or two better imo
Kasbah Blisters: At most Euro
Is Tidal Bay confirmed? If not, likely not much better at all
grangerpj: TB wont contend either way
Harry: The bigghest "sly" in this festival ointment is the Pipe yard are hitting form with a yard full of unexposed handicappers
Trackside: i know your smoking grass
Harry: read earlier post from Gal lol
betsmate: lol: Selections then please folks:
Kasbah Blisters: gave that up yonks ago, tracks
VPU
Trackside: Mossbank wouldn't finish second this year
grangerpj: VPU
Euronymous: vpu
Icebreaker: Voy
betsmate: I agree
Trackside: Can't see Our Vic getting an easy lead either
Irish Stamp: Mister Mc ew
Icebreaker: O V for the forecast.
betsmate: Ok moving on...
15:20 Ladbrokes World Hurdle (Grade 1) (3m)
Kasbah Blisters: OV could pile on the pace that might get VPU in a spot of bother
betsmate: I want KB to win, I just have a niggling doubt
Euronymous: ground concerns re punchestowns
Kasbah Blisters: Pucnhestowns - the french one is to be opposed
Trackside: He'll certainly be taken on for the lead
Steve T: jockey doubt for me
Irish Stamp: Kasbah
Kasbah Blisters: HUGE jockey doubt
betsmate: I know she's still young, but I still feel I should already have seen it by now
Trackside: Punchestowns jumping will have to sharpen up
Icebreaker: I prefer Bick Bucks to place at 8/1 rather than 5/4 about Kasbah.
grangerpj: KB my banker of week. whatuthink e/w
betsmate: I don't buy the jockey being an issue
Kasbah Blisters: Irish - you wont hear of defeat for anything trained West of Guernsey
Irish Stamp: would sooner take Christophe Pieux over a new jockey on him - he knows how to ride the hrose and is one of the best horsemen around
Trackside: Pieux is a monster in the saddle. unbelievable strength
Kasbah Blisters: bollocks....when it comes to Chelts
Irish Stamp: that is very true
Harry: no bet
Steve T: wouldnt trust him at 11/10 (jock)
Irish Stamp: nothing wrong with have CP on board - the other options are jockeys who don't know the horse
Kasbah Blisters: Fantasy......Pieux dominates France, because they are all fkin hopeless in comparison
grangerpj: what price will KB go off at?
Irish Stamp: don't mind anything bigger than evs
Trackside: tactical nous is questionable
strength in a finish is not
Steve T: drifter for me, 6/4+
betsmate: Tactics = steer class horse of the race?
Irish Stamp: if they were all hopeless messrs Walsh, Casey, Carberry, Gallagher would win all the races
Harry: We talking Tom Scu??
Irish Stamp: take a look at the jockey standings/big race wins to see if that's true
Kasbah Blisters: You are kidding yourselves on if you think riding a finish in France is anything comporable to riding one at the Festival
Trackside: Has he done anything wrong in a finish at Cheltenham?
Irish Stamp: a finish is a finish - some jockeys will be more stylish than others but the stats show CP gets the job done
Harry: Which race is Or Noir De Somoza in ?
betsmate: Will there be anything to finish alongside?
Irish Stamp: same as they show McCoy, Walsh etc do
Kasbah Blisters: Irish, I know you like you're French racing, but I have followed it for a long time myself....they're pilots are miles behind ours, and as good as Pieux is round Auteuil, he is Noeil Fehily class over here
Icebreaker: I'ld not have much of a prob with Pieux ..........
more with a rank bad price about KB.
Irish Stamp: he's not running - owner's taken him back to France
Harry: Really?
gabber206 has joined.
Kasbah Blisters: Question: on what basis has KB improved from last year?
Irish Stamp: i take your point about it being a new course etc. but you'd think if they were really that bad that when our jockeys go over there they'd be hacking up all over the place
Trackside: I'd rather have Pieux coming to the last than Barry Geraghty
Irish Stamp: withdrew him from Pipe's yard straightafter the race
Trackside: flat form is better Grassy - not that you would care!
Irish Stamp: he hasn't IMO - he was beaten by one of the great hurdlers o all time
Kasbah Blisters: You're joking tracks
Harry: race not jockey..back to the rota
Euronymous: he asn`t improved. And lets face it, it was a shit renewal last year that he didn`t win
Kasbah Blisters: correct Euro - finally some sanity
Trackside: I'm not
betsmate: Does she have to have improved with no Drever in the race?
Kasbah Blisters: Trust me - you are
Irish Stamp: this year he'll be up against a chaser in the making and a slightly iffy hurdler (one he should beat)
Euronymous: drever vastly overrated
Trackside: she, Betsmate???
Kasbah Blisters: Last years Stayer vastly over-rated, rather than Drever
Trackside: correct, IS
betsmate: yeah I just realised that. He
Trackside: (:
Kasbah Blisters: Why is the fkin window so small? Any way of re-sizing it?
betsmate: girly sounding name ;)
Steve T: drag the edges
grangerpj: manimize it grassy
Irish Stamp: there should be a drag on the sides
grangerpj: max*
betsmate: 4 vuttons in the top right, try the3rd one
Harry: Now for the 2:20 at Taunton 2 moz
Irish Stamp: can make the forum smaller etc
Kasbah Blisters: bit better ow
betsmate: Ok selections please for the world hurdle:
Trackside: Got it now myself
betsmate: me - no bet
Irish Stamp: ant find that one Harry :(
Trackside: just drag it out
Irish Stamp: no bet
grangerpj: If KB runs to last years performance he wins this years
Kasbah Blisters: Punchestowns.....backed today, and plenty of value yet

Irish Stamp: don't see Chapoturgeon staying - was ot on his legs some way from home at Warwick
anyone know what race Moskova runs in? backed her at 66's for the Jewson but ben pulled out
Icebreaker: Yes, and suspect jumping worries me.
Kasbah Blisters: no opinion.....I backed Rustarix a while back, but dont kn ow if he even runs..........will look on the day
Harry: poker de sivola + Nina kim muir
Trackside: a fast run 2m would suit her down to the ground
a lovable hound she is
Harry: Nina?
grangerpj: anyone any fancies in jewson
Trackside: shit sorry ignore all of that, Martin! wrong horse...
Euronymous: no
Harry: Chapo
Trackside: back in yer box harry.... (;
Icebreaker: Will Pomme Tiepy run in the Kim Muir?
Kasbah Blisters: Chapo a bit gutless, no, Harry?
Irish Stamp: lol
Harry: 7/1?
betsmate: I think he meant the horse not you
Steve T has left.
Irish Stamp: anyone give Venetia's horse Ping Pong Sivola a chance?
Kasbah Blisters: Is it at this point that I find out Harry is the very proud owner/breeder of Chapoturgeon?
Harry: LOL
Trackside: tony martin horses are very interesting in the jewson
Irish Stamp: shortly lol
Kasbah Blisters: PPS wont get in
Irish Stamp: Ruby rides NOrth Alliance i think

Irish Stamp: backed Zaynar AP at 20's, other than that two words UP MONAGHAN
grangerpj: not a bad renewal. i side with the henderson horse
gabber52 has joined.
Harry: Master of arts is the reason Torphicen is running tues
Trackside: i wouldn't be laying zaynar
Irish Stamp: that too Harry
Harry: ?
Irish Stamp: Master of Arts and Torpichen
Trackside: have to fancy master of arts i suppose if i've backed copper bleu for the supreme...
Harry: MOA banker
grangerpj: like to be near the parade ring if ebdayian comes out on top
Harry: Gold cup run on Sat?
Icebreaker: Heh
Trackside: ground concerns for ebaziyan
gabber174 has left.
Trackside: dont think he'll reverse form with jumbo rio anyway
grangerpj: hill should play to strengths
Icebreaker: In the Triumph I believe he will finish ahead of Jumbo.
gabber606 has joined.
Trackside: what about starluck?
Irish Stamp: was no probs when we won the Supreme TS ;)
Trackside: i can see ebaziyan getting outpaced running down to two out and staying on into fourth
Icebreaker: Every chance, imo, Trackside.
firstpastthepost: by the way if you havnt noticed cousin vinny is now 3-1 for supreme novices
Harry: Ebadiyan or Ebazian?
Icebreaker: If anything, I can see Zaynar getting outpaced early on.
Trackside: form not brilliant but could be anything to brandish a trusty cliche
betsmate: Ok money to mouth. Selections for the Triumph please:
me - no bet
Harry: MOA
Kasbah Blisters: No bet
Icebreaker: Walkon.
Euronymous: walkon
grangerpj: Zaynar
firstpastthepost: walk on
Irish Stamp: Me - no more bets
Trackside: zaynar
betsmate: IS :)
Ok let's do the big one:
15:20 Totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase (Grade 1) (3m 2f 110y)
firstpastthepost: kauto star lay
betsmate: Nothing of Kauto's class in the race for me
Irish Stamp: Naaqoos
oops
Trackside: we've already done the bumper......
grangerpj: Kauto
Euronymous: I have denman 7/1 - Neptune Collonges 12/1 Exotic Dancer 34/1 - i expect a return or i`ll want to know why
Kasbah Blisters: I think KS has taken a walk because of ground fears, but New Course riding quicker than Old, and at 3/1, I would be a backer
Harry: Roll on is massive 100/1
Trackside: because kauto won?
Irish Stamp: don';t think he'll be the strongest 3/1 shot i'kl back but a horse with a heart condition going up and down hill - i cant have that
couldn't back Denman at sub-12/1
Trackside: Would be nice to see War of Attrition run well.
Kasbah Blisters: I've got Roll On at 180............my only bet so far, and would be satisfied if it pished down for the next five days :)
grangerpj: Denman is one to look at in parage ring
Trackside: jog on, Harry!
Irish Stamp: lol just till tuesday willdo fine KB
Trackside: shite i meant Grassy!
Kasbah Blisters: Still hopin Mikael gets switches, Martin!
Harry: Albertas is being talked up everywhere with no form to back it up, Madison will carry my money too
Trackside: you've moved on to crack I see...
Icebreaker: I'm thinking of a Back of Denman at */1 and a Place Lay of Denman at around6/4
Harry: Angel dust at the moment lol
Kasbah Blisters: steady now, tracks...............crackheads are the type to stick with mules like Harchi ;-)
Icebreaker: 7/1 ie.
Irish Stamp: lol will do me - i did just lay off a bit of the 100s for the Supreme mind
betsmate: Seriously, I'ds be disappointed if a fully prepared Kauto Star couldn't beat a fully prepared Denman. As I've got doubts about the latter I'll put my money where my mouth is.
Harry: Always a rag in the places
grangerpj: leave poor harchi alone
Trackside: this could get ugly....
firstpastthepost: im gonna lay kauto and back exotic dancer to place
grangerpj: who will be the frontrunner?
Irish Stamp: if it keeps raining - Miko De Beauchene - ok so he cant jump but thath aside?
Kasbah Blisters: I fully expect you to be well on top in a scrap, tracks....only to fold tamely at the business end :-)
firstpastthepost: neptune fron runner
Trackside: Saw Kauto Star on one of the video previews and he looked fantastic
Harry: Exotic looks solid this year..more than before
Trackside: (:
Icebreaker: Yes Harry, and far better value at double the odds of Neptune.
Trackside: sunybay is sweet on Neptune Collonges
grangerpj: Madison the danger. kauto beats neptune 10 times out of 10
Icebreaker: Then he should also like Exotic.
Trackside: EC1 is sweet on Madison du Berlais
just FYI
Harry: Cant have Neptune at all. Place horse
betsmate: I think he was right to be at 14/1. His logic was sound. Not at the current price for me though.
suny I mean
Kasbah Blisters: It's not a betting race for me..........would love KS to regain his crown
Icebreaker: Can't see Madison whatsoever.
Even to place.
Trackside: tough to rate his form really
Kasbah Blisters: Even tougher to rate Denman's then
Harry: Oh Madison is a serious horse. Jockey shit though
Trackside: indeed it is
scu taking lessons from soumillon apparently!
grangerpj: ruby is to give scu special treatment if passing him on the hill
Icebreaker: Two fingers?
Harry: lol
Icebreaker: LOL.
grangerpj: yep
Irish Stamp: i hope he keeps his fingers to himself
what do you call a judge with no arms?
Trackside: I can see him tracking Madison the whole way round and mullering him two out and storming up the hill lol
Irish Stamp: Justice Fingers
Kasbah Blisters: nice one!
Icebreaker: Heh
Harry: Pipe could have had Kauto. That grates with the yard
Euronymous: he`d have fecked him up
Irish Stamp: "i can see him tracking Madison the whole way round and mullering two out" - that what you meant TS?
Kasbah Blisters: If there's no pace, KS will hack-up
Euronymous: yep
Icebreaker: Yeah, but he'ld have made him a good handicapper.
Euronymous: and if there is - he`ll blunder and finsih 3rd
Irish Stamp: how do you mean Harry? he could have bought him?
Trackside: no you're thinking of the last, Martin!
Irish Stamp: lol
Harry: The roof will come off if Kauto wins
Kasbah Blisters: Johnson wouldnt go the price for KS, I dont think
Euronymous: pussy
Irish Stamp: they are hardly genius' they buy G1 horses and run them in G1 races
woulda cost a wedge given the ME form
betsmate: Ok colours to the mast time. Which horse is carrying your money in the Gold Cup?
Trackside: any word on how much he actually cost?
betsmate: me - Kauto Star
Kasbah Blisters: E430,000
Euronymous: 27 million quid
Kasbah Blisters: I thin;
Euronymous: or is that some bag of shit that AOB had
Kasbah Blisters: I think
betsmate: selections please
Trackside: fair chunk alright
Kasbah Blisters: KS
Trackside: more than denman
Euronymous: exotic dancer ew if i hadn`t played already
Icebreaker: Exotic E/W
grangerpj: Kauto
Harry: Oh god remember Denman?
Trackside: Exotic Dancer E/W I suppose
betsmate: Thanks guys
Trackside: we're well ahead of schedule btw, Betsmate!
Irish Stamp: more costly than MM anyway lol
betsmate: RiBang on actually
Euronymous: lets discuss the 2000 guineas
Irish Stamp: we gonna chip in for Rose then Grassy?
Kasbah Blisters: Fuck the G2000
Trackside: good idea euro
grangerpj: does anyone know what best mate cost jim lewis?
Harry: Theyve gone completely different with Exotic this season and he looks good
betsmate: ok I can't work out what is running in the Albert Barlett so I'm lumping it in with everything else
gabber606 has left.
Kasbah Blisters: Would rather prise Long Run out of Waley-Cohen's hands myself, Martin
betsmate: Any other fancies on Friday

Harry: how long do we have?
grangerpj: MDH if he runs
Trackside: No I want to talk about the Albert Bartlett please
betsmate: 8 minutes
Icebreaker: I like Bensalem in the Bartlett.
Euronymous: if vpu wins i`ll have a monster double lined up on mastercraftsman
Irish Stamp: he's there Naitonal winner apparently - bit annoyed that hte Post chose to plaster all the stars over the paper on Friday mind
betsmate: feel free TS
Trackside: I've had a sizable bet on Bensalem
firstpastthepost: bensalem and poqulin friday
Trackside: don't particularly rate the nicholls horse

grangerpj: silver jaro in county again
Kasbah Blisters: No other bets on Friday, but ree that Bensalem will trot-up if he takes hbis chance there
Harry: Cockney trucker large in county
Trackside: i'm very worried about cape tribulation
Euronymous: i ahve an issue here - when Betfair talk about these races they label them by there registered names - supreme - baring bingham and spa - not by the sponsors name

Euronymous: no
Trackside: Alan King looks a decent shout.
