For the most part, i find them thuggish and lower-class.

Hence why footballers seem to have so many.
Why lower class though ?? You see on tele now all these posh kids and upper class people having them done.

The problem that I see with tatoos, is in the way that they are regarded as just another fashion accessory.

You can throw away out of fashion clothes, grow out an extreme hair-style, even take out a body-ring and the hole will at least partially close-up.

What do you do with a tatoo when it is out of fashion?

Surely tattoos are a personal thing?
Must admit I'm not a fan and haven't got any, but to my knowledge I've not been offended by them either. I do have one question/criticsm though - why do so many people have them on parts of their body that are hidden? Obviously there are some 'private' ones, but I know a lot of people, both male and female, who proudly boast of having one or more, and willingly peel back a layer of clothing to reveal all; it's a bit like ladies wearing skirts that are split right to the waist, and walking along holding them down so as not to reveal their knickers! You have to think in these situations that it is purely because it is the 'in' thing to do/wear, rather than for a genuine like of the item.

They belong on firm, young, sun-bronzed skin... but then, so much does! :D

I keep having giggles at the thought of some tattoos, now nice and tight on youthful skin, gradually sagging and wrinkling as the tattooed one ages. There's going to be a lot of fun when Grandpa's tummy sags, and sags, and that picture of a bulldog ends up looking like a tired - and very small - elephant. :what:

We've got two tattoo parlours directly outside, Colin - shall I inquire for you? "The Wizard of Ink" is nearest, so I can pop in and ask, if you're thinking of erasing "I Love Mary", "I Love Sue", and "I Love Anne" ...

As promised, my tattoo:

The only problem with it are the questions raised by my three year old daughter Emily. "Why is your sun black and not yellow?" "Did you just draw it on?" "Why will it stay there forever?" "Can I have a tattoo Mummy?"

On another forum that I use the topic of tattoos came up recently, and the ladies amongst us were shocked by a rather interesting tattoo of a dragon :what: I'll refrain from posting a photo of it here, but if you're not offended by the sight of a brightly coloured mens winky, click here.

  :o
