When I try and highlight text for italics or bold type, it no longer automatically surrounds them with the required tags but instead sticks them both at the end of the sentence. Anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution or do I just type them in manually?

test-icles test-icles minds o/k nowt wrong this end ..............

you can do it prior to writing and or when you have finished and need to highlight which ever part of the text you want to.

Merlin, did you read what I wrote? I am well aware of how to do it, what I will say (again) is that when I now highlight the text, it has stopped working and instead places at the end of the text.

PDJ yes I was very well aware as to what you meant!!! and I tried it out on mine then as posted !! thats why I posted TEST-cles(the extension was me being whimsical) in bold and in italics just to show you both were working o/k as they should be, though I have never ever had a problem with it...............

I'm finding the same as Paul & Rory, it's far easier to type in each shortcut as often if you click on the tab it puts the prompt at the bottom of the text. It's started doing it with the 'quote' function too, and when PMing at the moment it is tending to put the prompts for smilies, etc right at the bottom of the text. I'm finding it easier all round to type each shortcut.
