Good or a bad thing?

Someone thought up the going GoingStick

Betting Bots can give a punter and edge

Phone apps by the dozen

I'm sure you guys can add more

BUT How come we are years behind in Photo Finish technology.

Watching racing from Australia can be embarrassing when they announce winners of photos in a a matter of seconds while we can wait for minutes.

A punter waiting may need to know if he can have another bet or not and that must cost the industry millions over time

Can anyone put some light on why so slow?

Don't look at Australian racing but guess technology makes the call where stewards make it here.

Of course racing could make better use of technology. TV coverage could be greatly enhanced by timing sectionals, different camera technologies and better use of turftrax data to start with

It's all because bookmakers run racing here. Or should that be ruin.

Bookmakers don't want punters to have access to anything that might help them do anything other than bet almost blind.

A year or so back I was in a Hills office in a very busy thoroughfare in town (Glasgow). OK, it wasn't a big shop but the only thing that was on the walls was the day's cards. No form pages at all.

Shortly after that, I was in a Ladbrokes shop in Hamilton. A very large shop. Same. No form on the walls. No Racing Post available to read.

Out of fairness, I should add that the Hills shop opposite the Ladbrokes in Hamilton had everything available so credit to the staff there.

Puggies everywhere.
