I will try & make this as simple as possible!

I have some old camcorder tapes, I don't know the name of them but they are the type you insert in a VHS tape adapter to play in a VCR,

I want to put the clips either on my laptop or on a DVD, is there an easy way to do this?
 
You can connect the VCR to a DVD recorder through a scart lead. From here play the VCR as you would normally do and press record on the dvd player. I have done it with old games and they transferred ok. There will be no change in quality however as the copy can only be as good as the source.
