So there goes Sky One and some others then. They had better get this sorted before Sunday 9pm!!

Virgin ditto, and their 'Have Your Say' messageboard, where I think they hoped everyone would feel sorry for them (Sky One, Sky Sports, etc.) and say they'd stay with them, is full of people ranting and saying how they should've got this sorted before they took over NTL/Telewest, and that they're all decamping for Sky. People are 'Lost' without it, it seems! Not many desperate for Sky Sports, but definitely can't live without some of the series.

Have you really lost sky sports? even the sports news? bet that won't go down well come the weekend when the footy is on!

before they (Virgin) took over NTL/Telewest
They didn't. NTL/Telewest paid them lots of money to use the Virgin name - pity it's still run by the same shower of useless fuckwits that caused them to be in such a situation.

I don't think Sky Sports, or any of the premium Sky channels, are affected.
They are not......... only news, and sports news, Sky 1, but no premium channels as yet?????????? the first two can be seen on freeview................. :dork:

"As yet" doesn't come into it. No on will remove channels for which the customer pays. Virgin say that Sky want to double the cost to them for the three free to air channels.

Seems like Virgin were selling a package for the next several months when they only had the rights until yesterday. Regardless of Sky playing games, Virgin customers will surely have a right to a reduced fee or a penalty free cancellation.

they aren't on freeview for much longer
some people are blaming virgin for this, however considering sky are removing them from freeview too i wouldn't be too sure about that

Premium channels aren't going anywhere - sky have to allow them to be carried on other carriers.

And if anyone's changing to sky - don't forget the affiliate link :suspect:

Switch to SKY, TV from £15 month

BSkyB is concerned about the market share going to Virgin/ntl/Telewest and, to a lesser degree, Freeview. That is why they have put such a large increase on the free to air Sky channels. It's a typical Murdoch ploy and it may well backfire.
