Thanks to everyone who sent kind thoughts re the Ancient Briton's falling-down problems. I must admit that the one on Saturday, coming three weeks after her breaking her wrist, came as a bitter blow to her and put my old head in a whirl for while. Mum's been operated on today, and is sporting something called a 'dynamic hip screw' which sounds pretty darn lively! I'll be seeing her tomorrow, as I thought she ought to recover a bit today, and will give her all the kind words you've sent.

Whatever the squeaks and squabbles, there are some very warm-hearted people on here, and your kind words are very much appreciated. With so many dreadful, mind-crushing tragedies unfolding throughout the world so often, Mum's latest F to her form is microscopic, but thanks so much for taking time out for us.

Right, that's enough sweetness and light. Who's made a posting I can re-word into a scandalous slur?

Great news.

I can hear the cry-jooooooooooooooooooon-where's me tea and sarnie. :D

as she sits reading a book in 'tother room.

Krizon, please feel free to re word one of mine. Mine are normally full of typo's too so could you correct those at the same time please.

It must be pretty traumatic for you right now, so I really hope your Ma makes rapid progress.

I am at Lingfield tomorrow if you are going (I doubt you will be with all that is going on ) but would be great to see your smiling face if you are there. B)

Cheers for all that, dear forum friends!

Kathy - yes, I WILL be at Lingfield! There's no point in lying about on my sofa, watching the racing, eating too much and... hey, wait a minute! No, I'll be there because she's going to be in horsepital for a while yet, so there really is no point in being at home. I've given hers a one-hour makeover, which means the blasted coffee tables have been consigned to oblivion, so she can't fall into or over those in future. I think I'm going to write a 'User's Guide to Old Mums' after this! No-one prepares you for them, any more than anyone prepares you for bringing up kids. They're as moody, territorial, and inconsistent as teenagers, the buggers! :teeth:

So, see you tomorrow!

So, see you tomorrow!

Great news Krizon! I will be arriving a little later than normal as I am with a friend who isn't up to arriving 2 hours before the racing starts. :)

My dear old Mom won't be in attendance this time Krizon (mind you she is only 69 years old) as I am treating her to a days racing in Newmarket on Saturday instead.

Kathy, are you implying that a meeting at Newmarket on a Saturday is winning over one at Lingfield on a Wednesday? Harrumph! I'll have your badges ready for you, modom... but bring plenty of money, as there's no free cuppa from Arena for owners!

But guess what, there was FREE tea or coffee and a bun at NEWBURY on Saturday. :o I was gobsmacked. Nice bun it was too.

No, no Krizon. I normally see Mum once a week, so I thought Saturday at Newmarket would be a nice day out for her. My visit to Lingfield will only be a flying one.
