I'm fairly certain that an employer can only request a specific period of "notice" time. They are not entitled to demand it, regardless of whether it is mentioned in your contract or not (it is there as a request).

I assume that you are not entitled to any redundancy payment Aldaniti (which would probably be lost by leaving before the specified date)?
