Remember the Harrison Ford film "Patriot Games"? There is a haunting scene about 30 minutes into the film where Kevin O'Donnell (Patrick Bergin) is sitting drinking coffee in his remote farmhouse, staring at the television, apparently waiting for someone to come and talk to him.

It then cuts to the bottom of the hill leading up to the farmhouse and two gunmen are seen running towards the house. One of them goes round the back, the other knocks on the door, shouting "Are in you, Kevin?". It cuts back to Kevin who is still just blankly staring at the screen, sipping his coffee. Back at the front door, a gunshot is heard from within the house and about five seconds later the front door is open by another gunshot and the guy who knocked on the door is blown to pieces.

Out steps Kevin O'Donnell holding a shotgun and a bag and says to the dead man, "That's me holding my temper, Jimmy boy."

He then leaves.

For the duration of this entire scene there is a piece of music playing and it is beautiful and haunting. I've heard it a million times. It's Irish and has been used in adverts promoting Ireland (with a dance beat).

What is the music?

That's the one betsmate!

This forum is a wealth of knowledge and help.

Dave, is the sampled version the one they use in the adverts?

I love that tune myself (even though it's not performed by that very good group Whigfield

). First heard it when they showed the series "Harry's Game" which was excellent (albeit very depressing).

Children Of the North ditto.

Sorry for the late reply Phil, yes it is. If you like that, check out the album it comes from, Far from the maddening crowd.
