Totally wrong, I'm afraid - the Fabulous Bakin' Boys is a UK company which markets American products such as cookies, mufins, waffles etc and they supply through retail outlets and by mail order. Check their website. Fanny's muffins are part of their product range. (Though the ad is cod 50s.)Originally posted by Ardross@Mar 26 2007, 06:47 PM
I think the Fabulous Bakin Boys gives it away . The poster is a joke reference in fact to something said about fanny Cradock.
I don't see how that is totally wrong - in fact it is totally right (1) Do kindly confirms the quotation (2) the Fabulous Bakin Boys is an obvious allusion to the early 1990s film with Michelle Pfeiffer draped on the piano and thus the ad is a fake .Originally posted by Desert Orchid@Mar 26 2007, 08:10 PM
But Johnny Cradock's "I hope your doughnuts turn out like Fanny's" line goes back to the late 60s/early 70s when she made them for a TV programme.
Though the ad is cod 50s.
