I did worry about that as it really only needed to go up a few pounds to be safe but maybe it just surprised them that day, ridden by a 7lbs claiming amateur who maybe couldn't stop it. Then it turned up in the Long Walk and was backed down from 33/1 (might have been bigger earlier) and nearly made all. I'd thought it was a potential star earlier in its career and maybe it's just fulfilling that potential now. I'll be watching the Rendlesham with interest, that's for sure.

(I'm sure some statto out there will say racing over hurdles is the ideal prep too...)
